RESOLUTION N0, 1, Introduced by Mr. Robertson who moved its adoption,

RESOLVED, that the regular meetings of the Town Board of the Town of
Queensbury, shall be held on. the second and fourth Thursday of each
month thereafter at 8:00 o'clock P.M. at the Queensbury Town Office
Building, Bay and Haviland Roads, Town of Queensbury, and be it further

RESOLUTION No. 4, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, who moved its

RESOLVED, that the following Town Officers by and are hereby
authorized to attend the annual meeting of the Association of

RESOLUTION TO APPOINT THE TOWN HISTORIAN
RESOLUTION No. 5, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, who moved its

RESOLVED, that Mary St.John be and is hereby appointed Town Historian
to serve at the pleasure of the board.

RESOLUTION TO RETAIN THE TOWN SURVEYOR
RESOLUTION No. 6, Introduced by Mr. Austin, who moved its adoption,
seconded by Mr. Robertson.
RESOLVED, that John B. VanDusen of the Town of Queensbury, be retained
as Town Surveyor of the Town of Queensbury for the fiscal year of 1970
at an annual compensation of $3,400 and that the Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized to execute on behalf of the Town a contract with
John B. VanDusen for such services, and be it further
RESOLVED, that in addition to the services provided by such contract,
the Town Board employ said John B. VanDusen to perform other services
as may be required which will involve the employment by him of persons
to assist in compiling data, drafting and similar work, and that the
Town reimburse John B. VanDusen for such additional work and expenses
in connection therewith during the fiscal year of 1970 but not to
exceed in the aggregate the sum of $1,000 which reimbursement shall
be made only upon itemized and certified vouchers therefore audited
by the Town Board.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HIGHWAY SUPT. TO PURCHASE SUPPLIES
RESOLUTION NO. 7, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, who moved its adoption,
seconded by Mr. Robillard.
RESOLVED, that purchase of materials, supplies and tools for the
Highway Department may be made by the Town Superintendent of Highways
without the prior approval of the Town Board where the cost thereof
does not exceed an aggregate of $500.00 during the fiscal year.

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF SAND AND_ GRAVEL
RESOLUTION NO. 8, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, who moved its adoption,
seconded by Mr. Demboski.
RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes the Town, Superintendent of
Highways to purchase needed sand and gravel for the use on the Town
Highways at a cost thereof not to exceed $.10 per yard.

Deputy Town Clerk, and Lois Chase, second Deputy part-time, therefore

Lois Chase at Deputy Registrar, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that Lois Chase shall have the power to perform all duties
of the Registrar of Vital Statistics and such further. duties as the
Town Board may determine, not inconsistent with law.

RESOLUTION TO SET MILEAGE ALLOWANCE
RESOLUTION NO. 12, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, who moved its adoption,

RESOLVED, that the sum of $.10 a mile be and is hereby allowed for
the actual and necessary use of the automobile of a Town Officer
in the performance of his duties.

RESOLUTION TO DESIGNATE OFFICIAL BANKS
RESOLUTION No. 13, Introduced by Mr. Robillard, who moved its adoption,

RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 64 of the Town Law, The Glens Falls
National Bank & Trust Company, The First National Bank of Glans Falls ,
The Glens Falls Savings & Loan, and The State Bank of Albany be and
they hereby are designated as depositories for funds of the Town of
Queensbury for the fiscal year of 1970, and that the authority be and
hereby is delegated to the Supervisor to determine the accounts and
the amounts to be deposited in each bank.

WHEREAS, The Town of- Queensbury, has established a Police Department
under Section 150 of the Town Law, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the following are named to positions in the Police
Department for the year 1970, to serve at the pleasure of this Board.

RESOLVED, that the compensation of Frank X. Gilheany, Deputy Town
Clerk, be and the same is hereby fixed at the rate of $1,700.00 per
year.

RESOLVED, that the hourly rates for town employees, beginning with
the first payroll period of 1970 be and are hereby fixed as follows :

RESOLVED, that it is hereby understood that the classification
"Labor Class A" is intended to include full time, regular able
bodied employees, and that classification "Labor Class B" is
intended to include part-time, casual, temporary, or seasonal
employees, the judgement of the department head determining the
proper payroll classification.

Councilman Hammond Robertson Jr. commented that the above figures
represented an increase over latt year and while he did not feel
the raises were excessive they did reflect the rise in the cost
of living and he hoped they would be an incentive to keep the
capable employees that the Town of Queensbury has.

RESOLUTION TO APPOINT DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT OF HIGHWAYS
RESOLUTION NO. 21, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, who moved its adoption,
and seconded by Mr. Austin.
WHEREAS, Carl A. Garb, Superintendent of Highways, has recommended the
apointment of a Deputy Superintendent of Highways, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that Herbert E. Corlew, Jr. , is hereby appointed Deputy
Superintendent of Highways to serve at the pleasure of the Town Board.

RESOLUTION TO APPOINT RECEIVER OF TAXES & ASSESSMENTS
RESOLUTION NO. 23, Introduced by Mr. Austin, who moved its adoption,

WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury did, May 25, 1967,
adopt Resolution No. 97, which provided, under Subdivision 6(e) of
Section 20 of the Town Law, that the office of Receiver of Taxes &
Assessments would become appointive on January 1, 1968,
therefore be it
RESOLVED, that Betty Eggleston of West Glens Falls be and she is
hereby appointed as Receiver of Taxes and Assessments in the Town
of Queensbury for a term of two years effective January 1, 1970
through December 31, 1971.

WHEREAS, with the conduct of business in the Town Office Building it
is deemed adviseable to provide compensation for the Deputy Receiver
of Taxes and Assessments, be it
RESOLVED, that the compensation of Forrest J. Crannell, Deputy
Receiver of Taxes and Assessments is hereby fixed at $2.00 per
hour, payable upon proper verification of the Receiver of Taxes j
and Assessments. This amount together with all other payroll {

RESOLUTION TO NAME COUNSEL TO TOWN BOARD
RESOLUTION NO. 27, Introduced by Mr. Demboski, who moved its adoption,
seconded by Mr. Austin.
WHEREAS, this Board deems itself in need of legal counsel in the
conduct of . its affairs, and
WHEREAS, the office of Town Attorney has not been established or
provision for a salary therefor included in the 1970 budget, therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that Harold W. Katz, Esq. , Attorney, residing in the Town of
Queensbury, be employed by thi$ Board to render such legal services
as may be required and that payment for such services shall be a town
voucher audited by the Town Board.

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PETTY CASH FUND FOR TOWN CLERK
RESOLUTION No. 28, Introduced by Mr. Robillard, who moved its adoption,
seconded by Mr. Austin.
WHEREAS, this Board had previously authorized a Petty Cash fund for the
Town Clerk in the amount of $50.00 and
WHEREAS, the retiring Town Clerk, George C. Crannell, did return the
sum of $50.00 to the Supervisor and
WHEREAS, such sum was duly deposited in the General Town Fund, therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed to pay
the sum of $50.00 to Donald Chase, Town Clerk, to establish a Petty
Cash fund in the office of the Town Clerk provided that the fund is
established and maintained in accordance with Town Law.

RESOLUTION FOR APPOINTMENT TO FILL VACANCY IN OFFICE OF COUNTY
SUPERVISOR
RESOLUTION No. 29, Introduced by Mr. Solomon, who moved its adoption,
seconded by Mr. Robertson.
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of the County Supervisor for
the Town of Queensbury because of the resignation of County Supervisor,
THOMAS M. LAWSON, who was elected to said office for a term of two
years which expires December 31, 1971;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, in pursuance of the power vested in us
by Local Law No. 2 of the year 1966 for the County of Warren, State of
New York, we, the members of the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury,
do hereby appoint THOMAS J. MURPHY of said Town to fill the vacancy
existing in such office of County Supervisor in the Town of Queensbury.
Such appointment is effective immediately and the said THOMAS J. MURPHY
shall hold office until December 31, 1970.
