Dear Jerry:
Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, May 27 our office redeived a
phone call from a Town of Queensbury resident in the Broad Acres
ar8a, greatly concerned and somewhat upset about a crew touring
the neighborhood soliciting blacktop drivewgy recovering. An
excellent description was given of this crew and we telephoned
Police Chief Gilbert Schlierer immediately who advised that he
would check into it.
It seemed to me to he lass than fifteen minutes later that a
second call came from this Broad Acres resident, greatly relieved
that a Town Police car had been observed going by with several
of the crew as it and the truck following the Police car indicating
that action had been taken by Town of Queensbury authorities.
The purpose of this letter is to commend the prompt and efficient
action of the Town of Queensbury Police Department and Chief
Schlierer in particular. Such efficient and spontaneous action
as taken by Chief Schlierer should be a great comfort to Town
of Queensbury residents. His prompt action may have saved a
number of them hundreds and perhaps thousands of dollars.
Sincerely yours
Donald 'C. Hallenbeck
