The Supervisor opened the meeting to the public. Dr. Robert Wescott
asked the board to consider fluoridation of the Queensbury water supply.
He said it was a thoroughly proven and safe means of treating a defici-
ency disease which we have in this area -- dental caries. He said that
upwards of 88 million Americans are enjoying the benefits of controlled
and natural fluoridation. He said -the case of -fluoridation is almost
unimpeachable from a scientific point of view. Every reputable and
recognized scientific group in the United States supports it. Super-
visor Solomon promised that the board would discuss the matter further.
The meeting was closed to the public.

Councilman Austin called attention to continuing evidences of violation
to the Junk Yard Ordinance and said he felt it should be strongly en-
forced. It was pointed out that Mosher' s yard would accept all junk
cars without cost. It was pointed out that the ordinance prohibits
two or more inoperable cars on any one' s property. It was pointed out
that perhaps the public was not aware that the cars could be disposed
of at no cost to them. The paper was asked to publicize the fact.
Councilman Austin called attention to the two highway improvements in the
town, the nearly completed Oxbow intersection reconstruction and correction
of a drainage situation in the intersection of Sunnyside and Ridge Roads.
Councilman Demboski noted that the summer recreation program in the town
is well under way. He termed it well-run and well-sponsored and urged
