On October 2, 1968 at our regularly scheduled meeting, the
following resolution was unanimously passed:

Resolved that the Planning Board of the Town of Queensbury
endorses and recommends to the Town Board of the Town of
Queensbury that they endorse the corridor Alternative "N"
shown in the New York State Department of Transportation re-
port on "Additional Aternative Test Plans for the Glens
Falls Urban Area" dated September, 1968.

The clerk presented the following application for permits to
locate Mobile Homes in the Town of Queensbury.

All of the above applications were tabled by the Town Board for
further study.
Deputy Superintendent of Highways,Herbert Corlew and Councilman
Hammond Robertson, Jr. , recommended the acceptance of the bid
of Carswell Trucks, Inc. to furnish the Highway Department with
three (3) 1969 - V8 trucks per specifications at a net price of
$41,250.00. Mr. Corlew also recommended the acceptance of the
bid of State Equipment Company to furnish the Highway Department
- with five (5) , Hydraulic Spreaders, at a total price of $5,950.00.
A recommendation was also forthcoming from the Deputy,, Superintendent
Highways to accept the bid of Air-Land Motor Parts for supplying
certain tools _at__a Net Price_of $2,570-.-00
RESOLUTION NO. 218, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by
Mr. Turner.
WHEREAS, the Deputy Superintendent of Highways did on the 26th day of
September duly recommend the purchase of certain machinery pursuant
to the provisions of Section 142 of the Highway Law,
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Deputy Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized
to purchase, in accordance with the provisions of Artigle 5-A of the
General Municipal Law, with the approval of the County Superintendent
of Highways, the following:
Three Model 2010A 148" wheelbase 1969 International Dump Trucks
from Carswell Trucks, Inc. , for a maximum delivered price of
$41,250.00 delivered to the Town of Queensbury in approximately
90 days.
The Deputy Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized, subject to
the approval of the County Superintendent of Highways, to surrender
to the Vendor three(3) Fleet #5 1964 International 1800 Dump,
Fleet #8 1963 International 1800 dump and Fleet #9A 1961 International
B-180 Dump as part payment for the above machinery to be purchased.
The= terms of payment will be as follows:
Trade in allowance $1,436.00
By a check drawn from the proceeds
of obligations 41,250.00
A contract of purc a or the items purchased shall be duly
executed between theapfS Superintendent of Highways and such
vendor, and when approved by the County Superintendent of High-
ways, it shall become effective. When such contract has been duly
executed and approved, the Supervisor is authorized to complete
such purchase upon delivery of the items purchased in accordance
with the terms of such resolution and such contract, and to pay
the above amount specified by a check in the amount of $41,250.00
drawn on the account established from the proceeds of obligations.

pursuant to the Local Finance Law to finance such purchase.

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE TRANSFER OF FUNDS
RESOLUTION NO. 224, introduced by Mr. Demboski, seconded by Mr. Turner.
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed to
transfer the sum of $10,000. from the Queensbury Highway Account to the
General Fund said amount to be re-paid to the Queensbury Highway Dept.
as soon as such money is needed, and in any event prior to December 31,
1968.

RESOLUTION NO. 225, introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr.

RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized to
pay to Charlotte Codner, pursuant to the provisions of Section
103-a of the Decedent Estate Law, the salary due to Bernard J.
Codner as Highway Superintendent in the amount of $300.00 less
the necessary and proper deductions therefrom and be it further
RESOLVED that the vacation pay also due to Bernard J. Codner
be paid to Charlotte Codner.

Mr. Pliney Tucker spoke from the floor; with a question as to
whether or not the ruling of the Hudson River Valley Commission
has been received to do with the proposed land-fill operation on
the Corinth Road.
Supervisor Solomon stated that to date - the Report has not been
received.
The Clerk presented an application for aMobile Home Permit from
Mr. Arthur Wells to locate a Mobile Home on Corinth Road.
Councilman Robillard moved that the application be denied.
Carried unanimously.
Following discussion by the Town: Board, the application of Ronald
StGermain for a permit to locate a Mobile Home on Mountain View
Lane was tabled for further study by the Board.
