The minutes of the meeting of January 19, 1967 were approved. Carried unanimously. The clerk reported the receipt of the filing of necessary documents to do with the proposed annexation of properties to the City of Glens Falls. A letter was received and placed on file from the State of New York - Conservation Department which requested the entry of the Town of Queens- bury into the administration of the Stream Protection Law of the State of New York. Following discussion, the entire Tam Board and the Superintendent of Highways, voiced approval of the project. Supervisor Webster reported on the decision of the court :which dismissed the action of Clifford Witham against the Town of Queens- bury , to do with actions of the Planning Board and the Zoning Commission within the town. RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE CONTRACTS RELATING TO Y E S PROGRAM FOR 1967 RESOLUTION NO. 38, Introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr. Lampson. RESOLVED, ,that :the Town .-of Queensbury continue. joint participation in the Y E S Program during 1967 with the City of Glens Falls and the Village of South Glens Falls, and that the Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed--to apply for State Assistance under such program and be it further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to execute contracts with the City of Glens Falls and the Village of South Glens Falls, to provide for the joint municipal sponsorship of .the program, under which arrangement the City of Glens Falls would be the disbursing municipality for all three communities; the Town of Queensbury would pay over to the City of Glens Falls the sum of $700.00 under_ the terms of said contract. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Webster. Noes - None Mr. Charles Ogden of Bay Ridge Rescue Squad discussed the contract,. for ambulance service .by the three fire companies within our Town of Queensbury. The question of length of teem of the contracts was the point of interest at this time. 'i Scott Hopkins of West Glens Falls rescus Squad, stated -that" the suggestion of the Town Board for a three year contract -should be accepted. - The group agreed that the awarding of the three year contracts is acceptable by all three Rescue Squad's at this time. The contract was read aloud by the clerk. Agreement was reached with each of- the three Rescue Squads, that the contract should.come up, to _ a Public Hearing. Mr, Scott Hopkins discussed the number of runs, 316 -m4de, 4y.West Glens i Falls Rescue Squad during 1966, 546 men reported to take part in activity, 963 man hours were used to carry out the activity: I Mr. Charles Ogden reported on Bay Ridge Rescue Squad. Mr. Odgen stated that Bay Ridge averaged- 140+ runs. The number of man hours involved in the activity was quoted as 347. An average of 70srembers f reported to take part in earring out the duties of the squad. Mr. George LeBlanc of' the North Queensbury Rescue Squad stated that the squad average 3 to 4 runs per week. It was also stated that the ladies are very active' earrying out the duties of the squad. 161 RESOLUTION NO. 39, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Lampson. WHEREAS, thej9wn Board entered into contracts with Bay-Ridge Volunteer, Fire Company, Inc. , West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. and North Queensbury-, Volunteer Fire Company, Inc, for the furnishing of ambulance services in the Town of Queensbury, during the fiscal year of 1966, and WHEREAS, it -is now proposed to -enter into new contracts for ambulance service with the same rescue squads for the fiscal, years of 1967, 1968 and 1969 at an annual consideration of $1000.00 to be paid to each of said rescue squads during each of said fiscal years, be it RESOLVED, that the -Town Board hold a_public hearing at the Town Office Building in the Town of Queensbury on- the 9th day .of February, 1967,. at,-8:00 o'clock, P.M.. , to, consider the matter of the making of such ambulance service contracts that the Town Clerk be and he is authorized-and , "rpcted to, g ive 81 d. ch public-hearing by . publishing a notice once in the Post Star and Glens Fells Times at least 10 days prior to the date of the hearing, and by posting a copy thereof on the Town Clerk's bulletin. board,. Codner recommended the acceptance of the deeds of streets in Section 9 of West Land known as Pinewood Road, Morewood and Cedarwood , RESOLUTION NO, 40, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Beaty. WHEREAS, Idabel C. Ellsworth, Aviation Road, Town of Queensbury, has executed grid offered a 'deed -to convey to the Town of Queensbury land for 50 foot roadways to be known as Moorwood Drive and Crestwood Drive as shown on map dated March 25, 1965 of a subdivision known as Section 9 of Westland, and WHEREAS, the town planning board has already given-its approval to the Section 9 Westland Subdivision, and WHEREAS, Bernard J. Codner, Superintendent of Highways, has advised this board that he recommends the acceptance of these roads and WHEREAS, the water mains have been already installed in a manner satisfactory to the Superintendent of the Queensbury Water District, and WHEREAS, said dded has already been approved by the County Attorney, Albert E. Beswick, now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the deed of Mabel C. Ellsworth as above described, be and the same is hereby accepted and approved, and that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause said deed to be recorded in the Warren County Clerk' s Office, after which said deed shall be properly filed in the office of the Town Clerk, and be it further RESOLVED, that these new town roads are hereby added to the official inventory of town highways, and are described as follows: i 162 (Resolution No. 40 - continued) Road # 295 Road # 296 Description: T.R. 127 N ,& E. to Description: T.R. 124,N ;& E T.R. 119 c ;to,,T.R..119 Name: Moorwood Drive Name: Crestwood Drive Mileage: 0:37. Mileage: 0.21x Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Robertson and Mr, .Webster Noes - None Supervisor Webster discussed the alignment of the Ridge Road at a sharp turn which may- be re-aligned and the road be alt;tmatly straightened as much as possible. - General-approval was reached by the member of the' Town: Board, RESOLUTION N0, 41, Introduced by Mr. 'Turner, seconded}by -Mr.- t Robertson. RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and the Town Clerk, amt hereby authorized and directed to draft and forward to the New York State Department of Public Works a strongly worded resolution . expressing the opinion of this board, that the.proposed, Ridge Road re-alignment at Haviland Road should not be carried out unless - done correctly and adequately by making the improvement on new location from Rolling Ridge to Havilarld Road.
