177 Regular Meeting April 13, 1967 Present: John O. Webster Supervisor N. Harwood Beaty Councilman Theodore Turner Councilman Curtis Lampson Councilman Hammond Robertson, Jr. Councilman The Suptervisor called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. Supervisor Webster greeted the following visitors: Mr. Frank Chesto - Visitor Joan Bergson - League of Women Voters Harold Rathbun Visitor Florence Mcllvaine- The Post Star Mr. Frank Chesto approached the Town Board to question the possibility of repairs to a highway which may have resulted from the installation of a drainagepipe at an earlier date. Supervisor Webster stated that the problem will be discussed with the Superintendent of Highways and also that the Town Board members intend . to visit the site- soon and a decision will be made on the problem. The minutes of the meeting of March 23, 1967 were approved. Carried unanimously. A letter .was received :from Mr. _Jerry Solomon and placed on file which requested a permit to conduct Carnival Rides in the Queensbdry Plaza. An application was presented by the clerk for Raymond Kilmartin under Section #4 - 2B which was discussed and action on same was deferred pending further investigation. X78 The application for an addition to Forest Park Mobile Home Court was received. Action for approval will take place at this meeting. Supervisor Webster submitted a report that the equalization rate for the Town of Queensbury has been set at 37 for the year 1967. A letter was read and placed on file from the City, of Glens Falls attorney which _discussed the appoints)ent ,of an attorney to rep- resent the Town of Queensbury in the up-coming hearing on the pro- posed annexation &f :town property to the City of Glens Falls. The report of the Police Department for the month of March, 1967 was received and placed on file. The report of New Construction for the month of March was received. There were 19 reports received for the month. The monthly financial report of the Supervisor was received and placed on file. The total receipts for the month were 438.,360.42. The total disbursements were $106,632.50. The?repogt--ofthe Bu ldtnk Inspector for the month of March, 1967 was eeceived and placed on file. Following general approval of all Town Board members the reports and communications were accepted. So ordered. , RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PERMIT FOR CARNIVAL OPERATIONS RESOLUTION N0. 58, Introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr.Robertson. RESOLVED THAT PERMISSION is hereby granted to conduct carnival operations, as follows: Sponsor: Queensbury Plaza, Inc. , and all tenants Carnival: Robert D. Kellogg Amusements, Inc. Place: Queensbury Plaza Date: April 10th through April 15th, 1961 and be it further RESOLVED, THAT the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to issue a permit to the aforesaid sponsor upon receipt of proof of Liability Insurance is the amount of not less than $100,000/ $300,000 Bodily Injury Liability and $25,000 Porperty Damage Liability Coverage.. WHEREAS, the state highway running from Route 9 near- the Howard ` Johnson Restaurant south of the Village of Lake George through the Town of Lake" George. and the Town o Queensbury 'to .Ridge Road has for some time been known as Route 91. and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Lake George intends to designate said. state highway from Route 9 to the Queensbury town line as East Shore Drive and 'it is deemed desirable that said highway through the Town of .Queensbury be also designated as East Shore ` Drive, be it i RESOLVED, THAT Route '9t from' the 'Lake George-Q+ueensbury town line' to Ridge Road; Inters-ec{tion of� Pi of Knob Road be designated and named as East Shore Drive and that the Town tuperintendent of High ways be and he hereby is authorized to purchase and erect signs bearing the name "East Shore Drive" at intersections along said highway. WHEREAS, this board considers it advisable to secure the services of a part-time janitor, and provisions were made for this position in the 1967 Town Budget. RESOLVED, that Frank G. Harris, 11 Garner Street, Glens Falls, N. Y. , be and the same is hereby appointed as part-time janitor at the Town Office Building, effective April 1, 1967, at an annual salary of $1,500. per year. RESOLVED, that Crandell Associates, Architects, be authorized and directed to serve three (3) days written notice on Mace Plumbing & Heating, Troy, New York, directing Mace Plumbing and Heating to complete the plumbing contract on the Queensbury Municipal Office Building. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Webster. Noes - None Mr. Randy Lotaine of Radio Station WWSC visited the meeting at this time. RESOLVED, that the Audit of Claims as listed in Abstract #67-4 numbered #301 through #141 inclusive and totaling $22,890.07 is hereby approved.
