Harwood Beaty (absent) Councilman Theodore Turner Councilman - Curtis Lampson Councilman Hammond Robertson, Jr.. Councilman The Supervisor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p. m. Supervisor Webster greeted the following visitors: - Mrs. Edward Else* - League of Women Voters Mr. Melvin Slopey - Applicant for permit Mobile Home Court Mr. & Mrs. Donald Tabor - Visitors Mrs. Fred Hull - Visipbr Mr. Charles Harvey - VisitiOr Mr. & Mrs. Paul Bishop - Visitors Mrs. J. Norman Conley - Visitor Mr. Robert Slasher - Visitor Mr. "Red" Witdy, - Reporters, The Post Star Mr. Bernard J. Codner - Superintendent of Highways The minutes of the meeting of March 24, 1966 were approved. Carried unanimously. Supervisor WEbster announced the opening of discussion to, do with the application of Mr. Melvin Slopey to develop a Mobile- Home Court on VanDusen and Pitcher Roads, within the Town of Queensbury. The Supervisor discussed the application as presented by the developer. Maps of the proposed lay-out were displayed for the benefit of the visitors. Mrs. Donald Tabor was granted the floor. Mrs. Tabor questioned the Town Board as to whet signs would be installed by the _ — developer to promote the proposed Mobile Home Court. Mrs. Fred Hull stated that she is in objection to the granting of the permit due to the fact that the property of the developer joins on property whichtis owned by she and her husband. Mr. Melvin Slopey discussed the boundaries of the proposed Motor Court. Councilman Robertson discussed for the benefit of the visitors, the actual needfor consideration of a .legitimate location for Mobile Homes within the town. Supervisor Webster declared that ,the .portion ,of the meeting _set aside for discussion of the Mobile Court application would be closed at this time. - Mrs. Donald Tabor stated that, following the explanation of all points of interest in the matter by members of the Town Board and Mr. Slopey, that the objections as previously stated are eliminated. Supervisor Webster stated, that the permit will be agranted at a later time this meeting following a voiced approval of all members of the Town Board. Mrs. J. Norman Conley was granted the floor. The repeated complaint to do with Junk Yards in the vicinity of her home was voiced by Mrs. Conley. - ' The Clerk presented an application to locate a Mobile Home outside of a duly licensed Mobile Home Court on Homer Avenue$ Town of Queensbury. The applicants were Mr. and Mrs. Rajkowski. The above mentioned application will be investigated by members of the Town Board and action will be taken at a later date. A report was received and placed on file from the Queensbury Recreation Comsuission on the winter program which was recently conducted. Recommendations for expansion of the program were also submitted. McCarty March 28, 1966 38S Supervisor Webster discugsed the recent test borings for the Queensbury Water District. A conference will be arranged for' Wednesday, April 6, 1966 with the engineer Mr. Joseph A. Kestner to discuss all aspects of the search for water supply. a Supervisor Webster-reported on a meeting of Friday March 85th, with Mr. Fuller of the State of New York Department of Public Works at Albany, New York. As explained at the meeting a project is planned,, to widen Aviation Road to 4 Lanes and also provide sidewalks on the North side of the road. Following- discussion, the opinion was reached with all board members taking part, that an application should be submitted to the New York State Division for youth for funds, to provide help to carry out a beautification program within the town. A suggestion was advanced that a committee for community beautification should be appointed to work in conjunction with the Lake George Park Commission. RESOLUTION TO APPROVE APPLICATION FOR MOBILE HOME COURT RESOLUTION N0, 75, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Turner. WHEREAS, Melvin -Slopey..of 6 Vista Court, Glens Falls, New York, has made- application for a permit to operate a new Mobile Dome Court containing 15 lots for mobile homes on property situated at VanDusen Road and Pitcher Road, in the Town of Queensbury, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has, after investigation, given approval of this application and plans, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the application of Melvin Slopey of 6 Vista Court, Glens Falls, New yor_k for a permit to operate al( new Mobile 'Howe Court containing 15 ,lots for mobile homes, on property situated at VanDusen Road and Pitcher Road, Town of Queensbur'y be and the same is hereby approved and that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to notify the applicant of the decision . . of this Board. Be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized to issue the . permit to operate a ,Mobile Home Court upon receipt of the fee, in accordance with Section 2, paragraph 4 of the Mobile Home Ordinance of the Town of Queensbury.
