• Supervisor Webster called the meeting to order at 7:30 p. m.

Supervisor Webster declared the public hearing open on the application
of Mr. & Mrs. Francis Rajkowski, to locate a Mobile Home out side of
a duly licensed Mobile Home Court.
The clerk presented proof of publication.
The reading of the Notice was dispensed with.
The clerk summarized the original application as received.
Supervisor Webster requested a voice from any persons in opposition
to the granting of the permit. There were none.
The Supervisor invited any statements in favor of the issuance of the
permit. There were none.
The public hearing was declared closed at 7:42 p. m.
The application will be given further study and decision will take
- place at an early date.

Carried unanimously.
Supervisor Webster declared the public hearing open on the
application of James Webb, Jr. , to locate a Mobile Home outside
of a duly licensed Mobile Home Court at 7:45 p.m.-
Proof of publication was presented by the clerk.
The reading of the notice was deferred.
The clerk summarized the original application as same was presented.
Supervisor Webster requested a voice of opposition -from any person
present. There were none.
Supervisor Webster requested any statement in favor of the granting
of the permit. There were none.
Supervisor Webster questioned Mr. Webb as to the type of purchase
being made by him for the property involved. Mr. Webb stated
that the property was being purchased on a contract with'

The 1957 Chevrolet Pick-Up Truck which was purchased used -
three years ago now has in excess of 100,0.00 miles on it
and is in need of major repairs. - `
Therefore, after studying the specifications of several '
pieces of equipment I would like to recommend that the
following equipment be purchased under State Contract to•
replace the 1957 Chevrolet truck.
1 - 1966 Ford F100 4x4 to meet N.Y.S. specifications for-- '
type A 3

The pre-arranged Public Hearing to allow interested persons to
discuss the re-location of the Town Road near the Alexy property
at Dunhams Bay was declared open by Supervisor Webster at 8:00 p.m.
Supervisor Webster presented a map of the proposed change and
in turn discussed the proposatin its entirety.
Mr. Charles Bridenbacher questioned the path of the proposed
change in the, highway.
Mrs. Donald Pensel of the Dunhams Bay Boat Company, stated
that many residents are opposed to there-location of -the ,road.
Mrs. Pensel stated that it would not be possible for trucks to
enter and unload equipment on the road as planned.

Mr. Earl Shortsleeves stated that the turn off as it is at present
has been an attractive shopping place to view'Lake George for many
years. Mr. Shortsleeves explained that the point was sold to a
Mr. Pearly in,the year of 1944. A deed was presented for study to
do with an easement which Mr. Pearly was granted with a deed in'
1944.
Mrs. Virginia Allen questioned as to how much width can be claimed as
a town road.
Mr. Robert Leeret stated that he was one of the many persons who
have been ordered to vat*te thepremises by Mr. Fred Alexy .,
-- Mr. Leeret also stated that the proposed change in the lay out
of the highway would create a dangerous exit and entrance to Route 9-L.
Attorney Frederick Bascom spoke in the behalf of many residents who
were objecting to the change in the roadway in question. Mr. Bascom
repeated the statement that a dangerous traffic situation would
develop.
Mr. Norman Ferguson mentioned the fact that the map as presented by
the Town Board was not correct in its lay-out.
Mr. Donald Pensel of the Dunhams Bay Boat Company, stated that he
had discussed the plan to 're-locate the road with Mr. Alexy eome
time hepceg and that the plan as being presented tonight is not as
he had expected.
Mrs. Jane Alexy stated that if the course of the road was changed,
she feels that the point of entry was better suited to the carrying
on of business in the area.
Mr. Robert Leeret stated that Mr. Alexy knew the lay-out of the
Town Road when he purchased the property. Mr. Leeret explained that
he doesnot feel that changes at this time are justified.
Attorney Albert E. Beswick discussed the history of the proposal in
question at this time.
Attorney Fred B3lecom stated again that the present road should -not
be -abandoned.
Attorney Robert Stewart stated the he would be in agreement, that
Mr. Alexy would benefit by the change in the `highway as proposed.
Attorney Stewart explained that Jollowing investigation at the site
he is of the opinion that the proposed change would create an
intersection with Route 9L which would be safer for traffic than
at' present. Attorney Stewart discussed the pieceeding statements of
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pensel.
Mr. Robert Leeret- and Mrs. Sally Chenier voiced direct opposition
to the granting of the change as proposed.
Mr. Mervyn Pasco stated that in his opinion, the abandoning of the
present road would not be justified.
Mrs. Virginia Allen questioned the board as to how much width of
-land is owned by. the State of New York or the County of Warren to
create Route 9L.

Mr. William Belden questioned as to the original creation of the
road to be abandoned. Attorney Beswick explained that the highway
is a highway by use.
Mr. George Woodin stated that the previous owner, Dr. Fielding sold
all properly from the South Side of the road to the lake.
Mrs. Jane Alexy stated that the property where the beach is now
located is no different than many other beaches on lake front
property on all lakes.
Attorney Robert Stewart again stated that the proposed change would
be a safe exit or entrance. y1
Mr. Earl Shortsleeves explained that a substantial amount of
parking area would be eliminated by the change.
Mrs. Mabel' Ellsworth questioned the fact that if the road is not
deeded to the town shaould same be allowed to be abandoned.
Mr. Horace Squires discussed the entrance on the proposed highway
change.
Mr. Allison Ellsworth stated that the road should be left as it is
for the benefit of all persons involved.
Mr. Fred Alexy, Jr. , stated that his father Fred Alexy Sr. , has
improved the property which he owns to such an extent that same
is far more beautiful than same, was in the years past.
During the hearing the statements as listed above were received
and on proper occasion Supervisor Webster commented on points
of interest as they were advanced by the group.
The hearing was declared closed by Supervisor Webster at 9:40 p.m. —
Councilman Robertson and Councilman Beaty clarified the position
of the Town Board on the matter of the re-location of the road,
Mr. Glen Gregory approached the Town Board to discuss the possibility
of a town hgihway in a section of the Town of Queensbury where
Mr. Gregory owns land and a home. Lengthy discussion ensued with
Supervisor Webster and Mr. Bernard J. Codner, Superintendent of
Highways taking part.
Mr. Robert Maldoon of the Queensbury Jaysee' s presented a resumee
of the result of a recent project known as a "Community Development
Survey Report". Mr. Maldoon stated that a public hearing has been
arranged to acquaint the public with the land use program as pre-
pared by the Planning Board of the Town of Queensbury.
Mr. Donald Branchaud discussed the "Survey Report" as presented.
RESOLUTION NO. 90, introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by
Mr Turner.
WHEREAS, it is provided by subdivision- 14 of Section 64 of the Town
Law that a town board may adopt a resolution, subject to permissive
referendum, to appropriate not more than $10,000.00 as a publicity
fund to be expended for the purpose of advertising the advantage and
attraction of the town as a resort and for programs to promote the
general, commercial and industrial welfare of the town, and

WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury has many summer attractions, including
the Lake George Opera Festival, and it is deemed advisable to undertake
programs to promote these attractions . and to secure the establishment
of additional commercial businesses-and--industrial-plants in-the town,
be it
RESOLVED that, subject to permissive referdudum, there be and hereby
is established in the Town of Queensbury a publicity fund in the
amount of $10,000.00 for the aforesaid purposes, and be it further
RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed. to give
public notice of the adoption of this resolution in the manner
provided by law, and be it further
RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect thirty days after the
date of its adoption.

RESOLUTION NO. 91y introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded. by Mr. Robertson
WHEREAS, a 1965 Dodge pick up truck used by the Queensbury Water
District was damaged on December 22, 1965, when it was struck by an
automobile owned by Joanna O'Brien and oeprated, by Margaret O'Brien-
at the intersection of Quaker Road and Bay Road and an estimate of the
cost. of repairs in the amount of $33.66 was made by Suburban Auto
Finishers, West Mountain Road, and
WHEREAS, Albert E. Beswick has arranged a settlement in the amount of
$33.66 with the insurance company covering the O'Brien car, be it
RESOLVED, that the claim of the Town of Queensbury .against Joanna O'Brien
and Margaret O'Brien be settled for $33.66 and that the Supervisor be
and -he hereby is authorized to execute a general release of said claim.

ORDINANCE RELATING TO PARKING ON AVIATION ROAD IN THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY
The Town Board of the Town of Queensbury, Warren County, New York,
pursuant to Section 1660 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State
of New York, does hereby enact and ordain the following ordinance:
Section 1. For the purpose of this ordinance, the words "vehicle",
"owner", "parked", and "standing" shall have the meaning defined in the
Vehicle and Traffic Law-of the State of New York
Section 2. No vehicle shall be parked or left standing at any
time on the southerly side of the highway known and designated as
Aviation Road in the Town of Queensbury between the easterly side of
the junction of Cottage Hill Road with Aviation Road and the westerly
side of the south bound entrance to the Northway from Aviation Road.
Section 3. A violation of this ordinance shall constitute an
offense and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $10.00.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect ten days
after its adoption and the posting and publication thereof.

RESOLUTION NO. L2, introduced by Mr. Lampson, seconded by

WHEREAS, an ordinance has been proposed which would prohibit
the parking or standing of vehicles on the southerly side of
Aviation Road between Cottage Hill Road and the south bound
entrance to the Northway, be it

RESOLVED, that the Town Board hold a heh*Augng on said proposed
ordinance at the Queensbury Junior High School, Aviation Road,
in said town on the 5th day of May, 1966, at 7:30 o'clock (DST)
and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to give
, notice of said public- hearing as required by the Town Law,

Chief of Police, LeRoy Phillips reported on the investigation
of the Mobile Homes as had been requested by the Town Board.
Investigation of dumping refuse along town highways has also
been conducted by the Chief of Police.

this matter, I wish to officially appoint the following persons

"QUEENSBURY COMMITTEE FO ICATION". I expect that the
committee will meet shortly and will carry out its own organ-

that the committee will be enlarged somewhat in the Aext .few

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE BIDS FOR STORAGE BUILDING
RESOLUTION NO. 93, Introduced by Mr. Beaty, seconded by Mr. Turner
RESOLVED, that the town board hereby approves the final plans and
specifications for a storage building at the town refuse disposal
area, as prepared by Councilman Robertson and does hereby authorize
that advertisement for bids be inserted in the official newspapers

type A3-V8 together with equipment recommended by the Superintendent
of the-Queensbury Water Department is, hereby authorized and that the
Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed to execute any and all
papers necessary to consumate said purchase by the Queensbury Water
Department.

WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that said application complies with
