1965-07-15 SP 132 Discussion on the proposition as presented by Mr. H. Russell Harris for the Water Supply System at Rainbow Ridge, was held at this time. Councilman--Robertson stated that he would recommend that the',plan be investigated and if feasable, Mr. Robertson urged that consideration be given to the plan following study. RESOLHTTON NO. 167, introduced by Mr. Lampson, seconded by Mr. Turner. RESOLVED THAT the Audit of Claims as listed in Abstract #65-7 numbered #612 through #702 inclusive and totaling $14,813.25 is hereby approved. Harwood Beaty Councilman Theodore Turner Councilman - Curtis Lampson Councilman Hammond Robertson, Jr. Councilman The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Supervisor Webster greeted the following visitors: — Mr. & Mrs. Samuei Wells - Interested in Mobile Home application. Juliette Ellingsworth - League of Women Voters Mr. Thomas Flaherty - Superintendent of Queensbury Water Mr. Bernard Zovistosky - The Post Star Mr. Eugene J. Malone Nr. , - Representative State of New York Dicision of Housing and Community Renewal Mr. George Kushner- President of the Planning Board Mr. Arthur Monthie - Building Inspector The public hearing was declared open at 7:30 p.m. on the application of Samuel Wells to locate a mobile home outside of a duly licensed Mobile Home Court. Proof of publication Was presented by the clerk. Reading of the Notice was dispensed with at this time. The application of Samuel Wells was read by the clerk. The following persons appeared in opposition to the granting of the permit. None The following persons spoke in favor of the granting of the permit. Mr. Wells discussed the exact location of the property which will . house the Mobile Home on Illinois Avenue, West Glens Falls, N., Y. The Town Board in its entirety voiced approval of the granting of the permit. Action on the request will take place at a later time. Supervisor Webster declared the hearing closed at 7:45 p. m. - 33 The minutes as prepared by the clerk of the meetings of July 1st. , and July 8, 1965 were approved at this time. Carried unanimously. Mrs. Geneva Elmore was greeted by the Town Board at this time. Mrs. Elmore presented part of an application to locate a _mobile home on property owned by herself, Geneva Elmore and Ralph Elmore. Application will be presented when complete in nature. Mrs. Elmore registered a complaint on the unsanitary conditions which prevail in residences near her home in Bennetville, a part of Western Park. Councilman Beaty, reported on the activity of the recently formed Recreation Commission in the Town of Queensbury. , Mr. Eugene J. Malone, Sr. , was granted the floor at this time. A�decidedly interesting question and answer period ensued with all board members taking part. the subject in question concerns the possitle adoption of the New York State Building Code within the town. Mr. & Mrs. Bernard J. Codner visited the meeting at this time. Mr. Codner is Superintendent of Highways for the Town of Queensbury. Mr. Arthur Month�e, the Building Inspector, voiced his opinions on the effect of the adoption of the State Building Code. It is his &pinion that implementing the code would be to the advantage of all residents of the Town of Queensbury. Mr. Herbert Cqrlew, Deputy Superintendent,;of Highways visited the meeting at this time. Mr. George Kushner the president of the Town of Queensbur`y , Planning Board visited the meeting at this time. Mr. George Kushner recommended the adoption of the State Building Code. Mr. Kushners recommendation was termed as the feeling of the entire Planning Board. RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PERMIT FOR MOBILE HOME _ RESOLUTION NO. 168, introduced by Mr. Lampson, seconded by Mr. Z� ,� RBBertson WHEREAS,. Samuel Wells,oi Lower Maple Street, Hudson Falls, New York, has made application in accordance with paragraph 2 (c) Section 4 of an ordinance of the Town of Queensbury entitled ORDINANCE FOR THE REGULATION OF-MOBILE HOMES AND MOBILE HOMES COURTS IN THE TOWN'OF QUEENSBURY, WARREN- COUNTY, NEW YORK, to locate a mobile home outside of a duly licensed mobile home court at property situated on Illinois Avenue, West Glens Falls, New York, and WHEREAS, this town board has conducted a public hearing in connection with said application and has heard all persons desiring to be heard in favor of or against said application, and WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that the facts presented in said application and at said public hearing are sufficient to authorize the issuance of the permit requested by said application, for the following reasons: No one appeared in opposition and it was the opinion of the members of the Town Board that property values in the 434 (Resolution No. 168 - continued) R C neighborhood would not be adversley effected if the permit was granted, therefore be it RESOLVED, that pursuant to the provisions of the above mentioned -ordinance, permission is hereby given to Samuel Wells to locate a mobile home outside of a licensed mobile home court, at property situated at Illinois Avenue, West Glens Falls, New York, and that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to - issue such permit in accordance with the terms and conditions Of said ordinance. Flaherty, Superintendent of Queensbury Water District, reported on the results of the recent test drillings in -search- of water supply at locations other than the present well field, - now in operation. WATER RESOURCES COMMISSION EXHIBIT Introduced by Mr. Turner, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Robertson. RESOLUTION NO. 169, For Water -Resources Commission Application For Construction of An Additional Well And The Extension Of Water Supply Facilities For The Queensbury Water District. . RESOLVED, That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to make Application to the Water Resources Commission - of the State of New York for approval of the plans of the Town of Queensbury for the construction of an additional well and the extension of water supply facilities to serve the Queensbury Water District. Upon roll call the foregoing Resolution was adopted by the following vote: John 0. Webster, Supervisor yes Curtis Lampson, Councilman .yes K Harwood Beaty, Councilman yes Theodore Turner, Councilman yes Hammond Robertson, Jr. Councilman Yes Mr. Bernard J. Codner discussed the road mileage which has- been- allocated to the Town of Queensbury, to arrive at the proper amount of State Aid.
