RESOLUTION NO. 194, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Turner.
WHEREAS, this board has received the specifications of Contract No. 6
.to furnish and install water mains and apurtance& in the BAY ROAD
WATER DISTRICT in the Town of Queensbury and has found the specifications
in-all ways satisfactory, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that these specifications are hereby approved, and the
Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to place an advertisement
in-the Ppst Star and the Glens Falls Times to advertise for bids on
Contract No. 6 said bids to be received by the Town Clerk, 95 Dixon Road,
Town of Queensbury until 7:00 P.M. - (DST) on September 9, 1965.
The Town Board will meet in the Library of the Queensbury Junior High
School,, 75 Aviatipn Road, Town of Queensbury at 7:30 p. m. on
September 9, 1965 at which time the bids will be publically opened
and.read aloud.
Duly adopted by the following vote:
Ayes - Mr. Turner, Mr. .Lampson, Mr. -Robertson and Mr. Webster. -

The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p. m.
Supervisor Webster greeted the following visitors:

Bernard Zovistodki - Reporter for the Post Star
Thomas K. Flaherty - Superintendent of Queensbury Water District
Supervisor Webster, declared the Public Bid opening for the purchase
of pipe for Queensbury Water District at this time. e
Proof of publication was presented by the Clerk.
Reading of the Notice to bidders was dispensed with at this time.
Bids were opened and read allowed by the clerk as follows:

Water District for study.
Superintendent of Queensbury Water District, Thomas K. Flaherty
recommended the acceptance of the bid of Lee Hydraulic Co. , Inc. to
supply the pipe according to their bid.

RESOLUTION N0, 195, Introduced by Mr. Beaty, seconded by Mr. Turner.
WHEREAS, this board has invited -sealed bids, to furnish the Queens
bury Water Department with materials for use in the water department
as specified in the notice to bidders, and
WHEREAS, the bid of Lee Hydraulic Company of Troy, New York., appears
to be the lowest responsible bidder for supplying the materials .as
specified in the notice- to bidders. now therefore be it
RESOLVED, the,bid of Lee Hudraulic Company of Troy, New York,' .to
furnish materials to the Queensbury Water Department is bereby! .
accepted and approved at the total price in the amount of $3,360.24.

RESOLUTION NO. 196, introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr. Robertson.

WHEREAS, Harvey Maille of 32 Luzerne Road, Glens Falls, New York has
made-application in accordance with paragraph 2 (c) Section 4, of
an ordinance of the Town of Queensbury entitled ORDINANCE FOR THE
REGULATION OF MOBILE HOMES AND MOBILE HOME COURTS IN THE TOWN OF
QUEENSBURY, WARREN COUNTY, NEW YORK, to locate a mobile home outside
of a duly licensed mobile home court at property situated 32 Luzerne
Road, Glens Falls 40, New York, and
WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that said application complies with
the requirements of said ordinance, and
WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that the facts presented in said
application are sufficient to justify further consideration by this
board, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that pursuant to the provisions of the above mentioned
.ordinance, the town board shall conduct a public hearing on -said
application on September 16, 1965, at 8:00 p. m. in the library of
Queensbury Junior High School, 75 Aviation Road, and that the Town
Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give proper notice of
said public hearing in accordance with the provisions of said
ordinance.

RESOLUTION TO REQUEST ESTABLISHMENT OF A 5 MPH SPEED ZONE
RESOLUTION NO. 197, Introduced by Mr. Beaty, seconded by Mr. Turner.
WHEREAS, this Town Board has received numerous. requests from residents
of Glenwood Avenue, Town of Queensbury, for the creation of a_35 MPH
speed zone and
WHEREAS, the portion of Glenwood Avenue from Route 9 northerly to
Quaker-Road already has a 35 MPH restriction, but the remaining
portion of the road from Quaker Road to Bay Road has no such
restriction, and
WHEREAS, the remaining area of Glenwood Avenue i`s also thickly settled
and-the. area is residential in character, and
WHEREAS, HIGH SPEED THROUGH TRAFFIC, has an opportunity to use
Quaker Road thereby making it unnecessary and unrealistic to permit
50 MPH speeds on Glenwood Avenue;, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queen'sbury does hereby
request the State Traffic Commission to establish a lower maximum
speed not exceeding 35 Mph at which vehicles may proceed on Glenwood
Avenue, Town of Queensbury, from its intersection with Quaker Road
-- north easterly to its intersection with Bay Road.

Mr. Joseph A. Kestner, Jr. , Engineer for the Queensbury Water District
visited the meeting at this time.
Supervisor Webster reported to the Town Board that Mrs. John Bergeron
of Foster Avenue, has registered a complaint of a health nature, to
do with an abandoned septic tank. The complaint will be referred to
the health officer of the Town of Queensbury.
Councilman Robertson reported on further Investigation to do with
flashing lightsfor traffic control for schools on Aviation Road.
The cost estimate as quoted by Mr. Robertson was in the neighbor-
hood of $650.00 per unit for each light.
Mr. Joseph A. Kestner, Jr. , the engineer of the Queensbury Water
District was granted the floor at this time. The technical
specifications for Well #4 with appurtances were presented �o the
Town Board.
RESOLUTION N0. 198, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Beaty.
WHEREAS, this board has received the specifications for Contract No. 7
Well No. 4 with appurtances ,in the Queensbury Water district and
has found the specifications in all ways satisfactory, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that these speceifications are hereby approved and that
the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to place.an
advertisement in the Post Star and the Glens Falls Times to advertise
for bids on Contract #7, said bids will be received by the Town Clerk
95 Dixon Road, Town of Queensbury until 7:00 p, m. , (DST) on September
16, 1965. The Town Board will meet in the library of the Queensbury
Junior High School 75 Aviation Road, Town of Queensbury at 7::30 p.m.
on September 16, 1965 at which time the bids will be. publicly opened

Lengthy study on water problems in all localities of the Town ofQueens-
bury were discussed, at this time. A concentrated study was made
in the locality of South Queensbury which involves sizeable industrial
concerns in that area.
RESOLUTION NO. 199, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Turner.
RESOLVED THAT, the Audit of Claims as listed in abstract No. 65-8A
numbered #$11 through #815 inclusive and totaling $11,053.53 is
hereby approved.
