Town. Board
Town of Queensbury
Warren County
Gentlemen:
This is in further reference to the joint request from the
Town Board and the Warren County Superintendent of Highways for
a- lower maximum speed restriction on Glenwood Avenue between
Quaker Road and Bay Road. Our field personnel have completed an
investigation of traffic conditions at this location.
AAong the 0.5± miles of 18-foot roadway involved, our
- observations noted 19 units of marginal development and one
Atersection. Both vehicular and pedestrian trAgfic volumes
were relatively light. The factors do not meet the standards
we would consider necessary to warrant a lower maximum speed
restriction. Furthermore, due to the comparatively short length
— of highway, there does not seem to be a major problem of exclessive
speeds. We regret to inform you that we do not find it proper
to- comply with your request.
Very truly yours,
STATE TRAFFIC COMMISSION
