RESOLVED, that the Audit of Claims as listed in Abstract number 65-2 numbered 111 thru 226 and totaling $21,496.46 is hereby approved. Carried unanimously. February 12, 1965 Att: Members of the Town Board Due to the increase in the colume of business in this office, I would like Betty Eggleston appointed a Deputy. Yours truly, Forrest J. Crannell A note of appreciation for the sympathy extended during the recent death of Justice Andrew Butz was received by-the Town Board. A suggestion was presented from a concern who are offering service for the voting machines which are owned by the Town of Queensbury. The matter was referred to Councilman Beaty for investigation. Webster Supervisor, Town of Queensbury Chestnut Ridge Road Glens Falls, New York Dear Mr. Webster: As you requested, I am writing this letter to confirm our conver- sation in your office on Saturday, February 6. 1 appreciated 462 ,your taking the time tQ talk with me, and I enjoyed discussing some of the needs of our town. The main reason for my Appointment with you was to make known to you my interest in serving the town in whatever capacity you and the Board may deem advisable. We discussed the possibility of my filling the vacancy qn the Town Planning Board caused by .the - resignation of Mr. John Glass. We also discussed the future - possibility of my serving on a committee for Industrial Develop- meet. My family and I have lived in Queensbury since May 1961 at 17 June Drive. I am employed by Scott Paper Co. , Fort Edward, as the Senior Buyer in the Purchasing Dept. I graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Mass. , in 1956 with a Bachlor' s Degree in Economics and Sociology. I am 31 years of age. Until recently, I have been quite active in the Glens Falls Junior Chamber of Commerce and have held the offices of Treasurer and Vice President. I am sincerely interested in the orderly growth of our town and certainly agree with you that now is the time to lay the plans for the future. Dear John: As indicated on the phone, I am interested in serving on the Town Planning Board, and ask that you and the other members of the Town Board consider me in making your appointment. Altb,ough I am a relatively "new" resident of the Town, the recent vacancy on the Board presents-an opportunity to do something constructive for and with the Town and I hope you will consider my interest in that light. My family' s future and mine is now Queens- bury and I am most anxious to contribute what I can to our proper growth and progress. I am writing Iyou at this time to reaffirm my offer- and continued interest in serving as a member of the Board. Although Kamyr, Inc. has made a decision to build a new engineering office and research center in the town of Kingsbury on the outskirts of Hudson Falls, I personally have a deep interest in the development of Queensbury. This is where I reside and where I shall continue to reside. In addi- tion we at Kamyr have a great interest in the overall develop- ment of the- area which includes Glens Falls, Hudson Falls,. and- Queensbury since this is the area where our employees will reside. Councilman Robertson reported on a recent meeting with members of County Government on the subject of the proposed two-way radio installation within the Town of Queensbury . Mr. Robertson recommended that the town should accept the �offer _of the Warren County Central installation to become a part of same and to make use of the service as offered. RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE APPLICATION RESOLUTION NO. 51, introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Turner. RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed to sign-an -application for matching funds under Civil Defense, in the purchase of 12 mobile radios units for use in the Queensbury Highway and Water Departments and for General town government. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes• Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Webster. Noes - None Councilman Robertson reported on the results of the recant meeting of all the neighboring towns and the City of Glens Falls( to do with the planned study on sources of water supply for all involved. The selection of the engineering concern who will conduct the study was - approved by all municipalities who will tke part in theventure. RESOLUTION TO DISAPPROVE PERMIT TO SUBSTITUTE MOBILE HOME RESOLUTION N0. 52, introduced by Mr. Beaty, seconded by Mr. Robertson. WHEREAS, Stanley Rymkewicz, Jr. of RFD #1, Glens Falls, N. Y. has made application to this board for a permit to: substitute a mobile home of superior construction at property situated at E/S of Chestnut Ridge Road Town of Queensbury, and owned by Stanley and Leslie Rymkewicz, and 464 (Resolution NHS. 52 - Continued) Whereas, upon proper investigation it appears that the applicant hasnotcomplied with all of the requirements of the ordinance reg- ulations relating to mobile homes in the Town of Queensbury, more specifically, the applicant has failed to secure the written permission of the owners of the real property upon which the pro- posed mobile home was to be located, and in addition, a substantial number of property owners in the immediate areahave attendeda public hearing conducted by the town board upon said application and have made valid and proper objections to the granting of any such permit, now therefore be it a RESOLVED, that the application of Stanley Rymkewicz, Jr. , as above described, is hereby disapproved and that the Town Clerk, is here- by authorized and directed to notify the applicant of the decision of this board. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr., Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Webster. Noes - None Supervisor Webster presented a report from the Department of Commerce to do with the progress of the planned special Census to be conducted at an early date. It is expected that a tentative count will be presented to the Town Board by April 15, 1965. A discussion to do with the maintenance of fire hydrants within the Town of Queensbury, which are not within a water district took place at this time. A .meeting is planned for March 8, 1965 in conjunction with members of the City of Glens Falls Water Board to endeavor to resolve a plan to provide service to the .hydrants in question.. A joint meeting with the planning board members and the consultants took place at this time. --' A study of the regulations of operation for the planning board was started at this time. All points of interest was discussed at length at this time. Councilman Robertson stated that parts of the regulations may tend to discourage developers of subdivisions within the-Town of Queensbury. Supervispr Webster discussed points of question as to the feasibility of several parts of the regulations. Following this extensive study, the Town Board will further study a final- ized set of regulations which will be agreeable to the planning board as well.as to make the same acceptable. to prospective developers who may submit subdivision plans in time to come. Supervisor Webster discussed the present status of the newly accepted state wide plan of hospitaland medical coverage which has been accepted by employees of the Town of Queensbury.
