Gentlemen: Am writing with the understanding you are appointing an Assessor for the Town of Queensbury and would like to submit my following qualifications for such a position. I have made -appraisals of real estate in the course of my work and can assure you all concerned were pleased with the result. ,Also, I•spent many years, traveling for insurance, --' companies, dealing with clients who were in many instances dissatisfied with the cost of their compensation and other forms of insurance. I can not recall any cases , which after discussion, that were not closed to mutual satisfaction, of all concerned, I believe you will agree that the above should be of value to one, holding the position of Assessor and respectfully submit same for your consideration. To the Town Board Town of Queensbury - Gentlemen: I understand that there may be an opening for the position of Assessor in the Town of Queensbury. If so, I would like to make application for the same. I am 63 years of age but have retired under Social Security so any salary earned as assessor, if appointed, would have to be limited to $1,200. per year. I have been a resident of the Town for 37 years so I will not go into detail concerning my qualifications for the office because I believe that the members of the Town Board already know me. 8-5 (Harry M. Mr, John 0, Webster, Supervisor Town of Queensbury, ,-. Chestnut Ridge Rd. , Glens Falls , N.Y. Dear John, ` This letter is to let you know that I would greatly enjoy being considered for your Recreation Committee in the Town of Queensbury. I do not 'rightly know what I should list for qualif ications other than the fact that I participated in nearly all Varsity sports both in High School and College. As you -ktiow, I am a new member of the Town of Queensbury and perhaps for this reason I do not fully realize your problems, however, I do recognize the potential for recreation in this area, as this is one of the reasons I have recently purchased land in the Town. Also, for what it is worth, my wife is an accomplished horsewoman and has had long experience in conducting riding classes,, and is willing to assist you along these fines. Regardless of the Board's decision, please feel free to call upon me for any assistance whatsoever. Sincerely, L. Michael Carusone January 3, 1964 w Supervisor John 0. Webster Chestnut Ridge Road ' Glens Falls, New York j Dear John; I am very desirous of serving on the Queensbury Recreation Council. This area of development is an inadequacy in our town sufficiently large to require our best efforts. Although I am investigating this problem with the Department of Youth of New York State for the Glens Falls Jaycees, I would want to act as an independent resident representing my family and our new forthcoming Queensbury business only. Concerning our new factory, we are finalizing plans now. When you have an opportunity, please stop by and see our somewhat rendered vertical and plan views of the new construction. Yours very truly, Bob R. W. Dear Mr, Webster and Members of the Queensbury Town Board: The year 1963 had more than its share of health problems, most of which, however, were rather minor. On several occa- sions both the district engineer and myself inspected problems concerning sewage disposal. The bathing beaches were visited and inspected and the bathing permits once again. issued. A number of dog bites were reported anti one or two bites by miscellaneous types of animals were likewise reported.` Vone of these resulted in any serious problem. The immunization clinics were again held in Queensbury School and vaccinations, triple toxoids and polio shots were .rJ given at different times. There were approximately 500 immun- izations procedures carried out in these clinics. T recently called Mr. Andrew Brown in regard to the status of the Wilson Ave. , neighborhood where rats were report- ed two years ago. Apparently a fairly efficient job was done by the exterminators, as no more rats have been detected. 1 C7 (Robert A. Reid, M.D.. letter - continued) Queensbury had its share of infectious diseases through this past year but there were no epidemics of really serious proportions. I wish to take this opportunity to thank you and the mem- bers of the Board for my appointment four years ago and I re- quest your consideration of my continuing in this capacity as Health Officer during the next four years. Thank you. Sincerely yours, Robert A.
