Noes - None A report was received and placed on file to do with the activities of the Recreation Commission during the summer of 1964. Mr. Jerome Thorne, Acting Superintendent of the Queensbury Water Districta reported on abuses of water use by persons who appear to be transporting` water from the water system to other location outside of the township. September 22, 1964 Hpn. Earl F. Matte City Attorney 80 Bay Street Glens. Falls, N. Y. 311 Dear Judge Matte: Some weeks ago I prepared a proposed agreement between the City of Glens Falls and the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury, acting for the Queensbury Water District, and also a deed from the Town to the City to convey the water mains on Fort Amherst Road, At the same time I prepared a deed from the City to the Town conveying main off Aviation Road across the Brownell property. Since that time I have talked with the members of the Town Board, and unfortunately they do not feel too secure about service by Water Department 'to 'residents of Queensbury liVing 'outside of the Queensbury Water District. There was some difficulty about the quality of the water on Bullard Avenue and from statements alledged to have been made by Garner Tripp at that -time it would seem that he feels that the Water Department has no responsibility for water service rather than to put water in the mains. As you know, there is still a large section of -the Town of Queensbury which is still being served ,by the City Water Depart- ment and some of these customers, particularly in the Broadacres and Dixon Road areas, have expressed some anxiety as to the future of their water service. I have pointed -out to the Town Board that when the City of Glens Falls applied to Water Resource Commission, formerly Water Power and Control Commission, for permission to service these areas in the ,Town of Queensbury and were granted such permission, the City assumed certain local responsibility and they cannot cut off water service without making application to Water Resource Commission. I should like to' suggest that the Board of Water Commissioners and Mr. Tripp review their water business in the Town of Queensbury and adopt some statement of policy which can be put in writing and delivered to the Town Board to give them assurance that as soon as the City has acquired the water main on Fort Amherst Road there will not be a move to curtail water service in the town outside of the water districts. Yours very truly, Albert E. Beswick County ,Attorney The minutes of all previou$ nteetirtgs to date were approved by the Town Board. Carried unanimously.
