Superintendent Mrs. Duane Peacock Of Highways Mrs. Barbara Toomey, _ Mr. & Mrs. Harold Rathbun George Curtis Mr. & Mrs. : Richard Hoague George Saville The public hearing was declared open to do with the `application of Mary Odgen, to locate a mobile home outside of a duly licensed Mobile Home Court. The proof of publication -was presented by the clerk. The reading of the published notice was dispensed with at th'is time. The Application for the permit was read by the clerk; The Supervisor requested' an appearance of any°person who taas. in opposition of the granting a .permit. to _ loeate a mobile home on the property owned. by 14ary Odgen, Mr. George Saville was heard at this time. Mr. Saville's objection. to the issuance -of the permit ,in 'question was based on the fact that more mobile homes would be encouraged to locate in the area. 'Mr. Saville also stated that, in his opinion, property values would be reduced in the. area as a result of the placing ,of the mobile home on the Mary Odgen property. Upon a request by 'the Supervisor, persons were Beard in favor of the issuance of the permit in question. Mr. Louis Odgen was granted_ the floor. Mr. Odgen s,tated ,that there was a definate need by the applicant for this permit `and also he - explained that an unsightly large barn would be torn down to make room for the locating of the mobile homeR Mr. Harold Rathbun poke to relay the statements of Mrs. Clayton Howe, the owner o� the adjourning- property to the proposed mobile home site. Mrs. Howe has stated that she would encourage the tearing down of the unsightly barn on the adjoining property and to allow a mobile home to be located at this location. Mrs. Mildred Peacock was heard at this time. Mrs Peacock voiced her feeling that by granting the permit; the two elderly persons would be benefited. The Town Board proceeded to--study the application. The hearing was declared closed at this time. 319 The clerk presented two applications to locate Mobile Homes outside of a licensed Mobile Home Court. The applicants were Carson &Bettie Beswick and William Mattison. Attorney Gerald McPhillips visited the meeting at this time. Mr. McPhillips explained that he is representing the New House Broadcasting Corporation of Syracuse, New York. A lengthy discussion and explanation ensued to do with the owners of the Corporation and also the plans to install a coaxial cable to provide increased television service in 'the' area. The contracts which would be provided by the installer would involve an installation cost and a monthly use -- charge. Mr. McPhillips explained that his mission at the meeting was to apply for a franchise to install the system. e Mr. Phillips questioned the town board as to the present status of making a replacement for the policeman who has recently been forced to retire because of his age. The town board suggested that Mr Phillips should study the applications which he has received for appointment and and he should enter a recommendation at a later date. Myrtle Codner was in my office last week Fridays anti stated that she and Harry had decided they would not give such consent because their daughter was opposed to the application. Under these circumstances it would seem that' you have a legitmate reason for denying the application.
