1963-04-25 415 RESOLUTION NO. 73 introduced by i4r. Turner, seconded by Mr. Beaty. WHEREAS, a dangerous highway condition now exists at the intersection of Meadow Drive and Ridge Road (Route 9L), THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that a 175 watt mercury corrected white highway light be authorized for installation at this intersection, and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to contact the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. and make all necessary arrangements so that this authorized highway light may be installed. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson,.Mr. Akins and Mr. Webster Noes - None An announcement was made to the board to do with the next meeting of the Planning Board, which will be held in conjunction with the Town Board at a special meeting on May 2nd, 1963. A general discussion ensued at this time on the planning of advance preparation of resolutions etc, to ultimately result in better coordination in conducting the weekly meetings of the Town Board. T A lengthlyy airing of all difficulties with the present operation of the town dump took place at this time. With no further business on hand, the meeting was adjourned. Harwood Beaty Councilman Theodore Turner Councilman Curtis Lampson Councilman Harold Akins Councilman The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p. m. Visitors were welcomed at the meeting as follows: Rudy Tramposh - Boris N. GreenbbergQ. _: x• - Ralph Nestle. Mr. Tramposh,- owner of the "Wishing Well Motel" on Route 9, Lake George Road, stated that his message to the Town Board would be presented by Mr. Greenberg-. Mr. Greenberg, explained at length the ordinance which is in effect for the Lake George area to do with displaying signs depicting rates being charged for lodging. The size of the sign is the main issue involved in the ordinance. A copy of the ordinance` was presented to the Town Board of Queensbury with the thought in mind that the Town of Queensbury may adopt the same at a later date. Mr. Joseph Kestner the engineer for the Queensbury Water District visited the meeting at this time. Mr. Kestner, presented the details to be involved in advertising for bids for installation of the two steel storage tanks which will become part of the Queensbury Water District. 41 The clerk read the proposed advertisement for bids as follows: CFA-238-A ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS (V-62) Project No. APW-NY-52G Town of Queensbury, Warren County, Nkw York (Owner) Separate sealed bids for Queensbury Water District -' Contract No. 1: Furnishing and Erecting Two 5000000-Gallon Steel Water Storage Tanks will be received by the. Town Board of the Town of Queensbury at the Queensbury High School on Aviation Road, Glens Falls , New York . until. 7:30 o'clock E.D.$.T. May 13, x.963, and then at said high school publicly and read aloud. The information for Bidders , Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, and Forms of Bid Bond and Performance Bond may be examined at the following: Office of the Town Clerk Town of Queensbury 95 Dixon Road Glens Falls, New York . Office of Joseph A. Kestner Jr. .Consulting Engineer 1 Kestner Lane Troy, New York Copies may be obtained at either of these addresses upon payment of $25 for each set. Any unsuccessful bidder, upon returning such set promptly and in good condition, will be refunded his payment, and any non-bidder upon so returning such a set will be refunded $10. The owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. ` Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. Johnson Business Machine's on the supplying of a new check writing machine for the office of the Supervisor, the board gave unanimous approval of same. RESOLUTION NO. 74 introduced by Mr. Akins, seconded by Mr. Lampson WHEREAS, this board has received the specifications of Contract #1, to furnish and erect two 500,("00 gallon steel storage reservoirs, concerning Project No. APW-NY-52G, and has found the specifications in all ways satisfactory, therefore be it ' RESOLVED, that these specifications are hereby approved, and the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to place an advertise- ment in the Post Star and the Glens Falls Times , to advertise for bids on Contract #1, said bids to be received and opened on May 13, 1963, at 7 :30 p. m. in the library of Queensbury Public School. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr, Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Akins and Mr. Webster Noes - None 41? RESOLUTION N0. 75 introduced by Mr. Beaty, seconded by Mr. Turner RESOLVED, that permission is hereby granted to Robert Weaver of 2 Edgewood Drive, South Glens Falls , the builder to mare application to the City of Glens Falls for water service, to a new home at the corner of Westmore Avenue and Sunset Drive, thereby becoming a water customer of the City of Glens Falls and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the City of Glens Falls , Water Board and to Robert Weaver. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Akins and Mr. Webster. Noes - None _ RESOLUTION NO. 76 introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr. Beaty RESOLVED, that Resolution #69, adopted by this board on April 11, 1963 is hereby rescinded. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Akins and Mr. Webster Noes - None RESOLUTION NO. 77 introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr. Beaty. WHEREAS, a map of a portion of the lands of Frank Morgan. on the east side of the West Mountain Road, said map showing a section of a proposed subdivision to be known as "Land of Pines", has been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury, and WHEREAS, said map complies with all the provisions of the Town Ordinance relating to the development of subdivisions therefore be it, RESOLVED, that the Map of the, first section of "Land of Pines", subdivision be and the same is hereby approved. Duly adopte3 by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr, Lampson, Mr. Akins and Mr. Webster. Noes ' None RESOLUTION NO. 78 introduced by Mr. Lampson, seconded by Mr. Turner. WHEREAS, Herbert Anderson has made application for a license to operate a Junk Yard for the year 1963 at the Sanders Road location, and WHEREAS, this application has been aocompanied by the proper license fee of $10.00, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the junk yard license of Herbert Anderson, for the year 1963, be and the same is hereby approved,and be it further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby directed to issue such license and deposit the fee of $10.00 in the General Town Fund.
