Harwood Beaty Councilman Theodore Turner Councilman - Curtis Lampson Councilman Harold Akins Councilman The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Visitors welcomed, were all members of the newly formed Planning Board of the Town of Queensbury. Robert N. Dean John W. Glass M.H. Simmonds Robert Kirkpatrick George J. Kushner Hammond Robertson Jr. J. Arthur Norton Mr. Webster explained at length the planning for the future of the Town of Queensbury,„ as follows Town Hall and Property Pineview Cemetery Sale ' Purchase of the Timms Property W. Webster stated that the time for the permissive referendum has already passed# on the above propositions. - - t Mr. Akins enlightened the group on the water supply system being planned at present. The well sight was discussed with the assur- ance that the supply of water is adequate for the needs of, the Town of Queensbury, at the present time. All sections to be served were discussed at length. Mr. Akins, explained the request being made by the Town Board for a sizeable Federal Grant to aid in the completions of this water supply system. ;260 Mr. Richard Slocum, of the New York State Department of Commerce was welcomed at the meeting at this time. In the general discussion that followed the suggestions for work for the Planning Board were as follows: Develop plans for all future Improvements. Layout sections of the Town by Classification. Study of Town Highways for best advantage of all visible needs. Plan fora future zoning ordinance. Review all subdivisions. t -- Mr. Slocum explained at length that the final acceptance of all suggestions was up to the decission of the `Town Board. Great stress was laid on a study of the most important problems in the Town at present, as they would become a valuable asset for the future prpgress of the Town of Queensbury. A study of a land use map of the town cohld be used to plot the sections for all types of use. A suggestion that Aerial Maps with sharp definition would be of great advantage to the Planning Board, The Planning Board were advised to appoint a chairman - Vice- Chairman- and secretary to handle the details of their group. The suggestion of working in a complete group on all matters was advised to the board. In summation, Mr. Slocum stated that balancing the growth of the town will be the first aim at the present. RESOLUTION NO. 167 introduced by Mr. Turner,; seconded by Mr. Lampson WHEREAS,, Mr. D. Frank Sullivan, Chairman of the Democratic Committee did appoint Selena Pierce as Election 'inspector for District #5 of the Town of Queensbury, and WHEREAS„ Selma Pierce will not be able to serve-;. Therebore be it RESOLVED, that Christine Bergeron of 2 Foster Avenue, be appointed as Election Inspector for District #5 of the Town of Queensbury. Duly adopted by the following vote Ayes - Mr. Beaty,, Mr. Turner,, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Akins and Mr. Webster Noes None
