Dear Mr. Miller.
Enclosed are two copies of my contract for Engineering Services in
connection with the proposed water supply for the Team of Queensbury.
This contract' is dated April 13th, 1956 and limits the extent of the
Engineering Services to $1875 without further authorization by the Town
Board.
To date the total value of services rendered is approximately
$1600. This includes approximately $500 of Engineering Services rendered
in connection with the proposed Northway construction which were not
anticipated at the time my proposal was prepared. The various plans
for the Northway have had considerable bearing on the project cost for
the development of the water supply and the proposed transmission system.
I therefore considered that it would be inadvisable to complete the
Report until such time as we had definite knowledge regarding the North-
- way plans.
Arrangements have been made at the proposed well field' for a tunnel
crossing the Northway and for a transmission main adequate for future
requirement under the Northway at Aviation Road. We are therefore in a
position tb complete our Report.
It appears that it will be possible to complete our Report including
the additional services rendered in connection with the Northway and a,
visit or two to the site during the construction of the water line at
Aviation Road and th6-- tunnel at the well field for a total sum of about
42200 which is within $325 of the amount estimated in my contract of
April 13th, 1956.
I shall-be pleased to discuss the Engineering Services described
above with the Town Board at their convenience.
Sincerely,
Isl Joseph A. Kestner, Jr.
John Slack`, president of the Queensbury Taxpayers" Association,. was

Dear Sirs :
During the fall of 1958, Kip Darling purchased the development
Down since the beginning as Country Colony from Dean Howland and
William McDowell. This is the-parcel of land bounded on two sides by
the Bay Road and the Glen Lake Road
The road built by the original developers three years ago last
August was at that time named Country Colony Drive.. It has been well
maintained by the Town of Queensbury since September.1955. There are
four families who have b6en residing on this road. It is the express
desire and request of all families concerned that the name of the road
remain the same. It would involve dilrficulties for all concerned if the
name of the road is changed at the request of the new developer. Russell
Harris informed us , when we contacted him in the fall., that since the
town had maintained the road constantly, the name could not be chinged
without the consent of the four families residingthere.

Dear Sir;
The Constitution of the United States provides that a Census of
Population shall be taken in all States every ten years. We are now
preparing the mapping materials necessary for the next decennial census
which will be taken in April 1950, From State sources we have obtained
county maps but in many areas of dense population the county maps do
not provide sufficient detail for our purposes. In order to secure this
greater detail and make the enumeration as accurate as possible we need
a large--scale, up-to-date map of your town.
For the purpose of the census an ideal map would be on the scale
of two inches to the mile or larger and would show all existing streets,,
roads , railroads , streams, and similar features and the names of those
features.
If you could furnish us with such a map or let us know where one
could be obtained it would materially help us in accurately planning
for the census of your town. Your cooperation will be appreciated.
A label which requires no postage is enclosed for your -convenience
in mailing the map.
Sincerely yours ,,
