Mr.. LeRoy J. Gordon, Supervisor

Dear Roy:
Leslie Hayes, Jr. , Clerk of the Board of Supervisors , advises us that
the Town of Queensbury is the only town in Warren County which has not paid
its bill for the ,preparation of assessment roll for the school tax collec-
tion.
Subdivision 2 of Section 1302 of the Real Property Tax Law provides
that town assessors shall prepare for each school district an-assessment
roll applying to such district and deliver ,the same to the school authorities
of each school district on or before August 15, and that the expenses of
—'
preparing and furnishing such assessment roll shall be a town charge.
I have not seen the bill rendered to the Town of Queensbury by the
County-but I am told that it is iA the same form and covers the same items
as have been billed to all other towns. Unless your Town Board has some
specific abjection to the bill as rendered, I am of the opinion that it is
a proper charge and should be allowed and paid.
Yours very truly,
/s/ Albert E. Beswick
County Attorney
