The board convened at 7:30 P.M.
The members of the Town Board signed a certificate on the Collector'•s
bond of Arthur Hillis, approving the same:.
The privilege of the floor was extended to Mr. John Parker who re
quested that a new, highway be laid out from the .Aviation Road west of
the Mountain Road by property owned by Mr. Parker.
The members' of the Board agreed to inspect the areas affected on
March 24th, 1957.
Bart Riordan was present in behalf of the Glen Lake Protective Asso
ciation and discussed the possibility of extending the Country Club
Road.
_ Mr. Harris stated that most easements have been received and expected
that work would begin in the middle of next week.
A discussion was had on the Cooley Road and on other related matters
with Mr. Riordan.
Thomas Spellman was present and requested;permission to obtain water
for house service from the system of the Ridge Road Water District.
The matter was generally discussed*
Trumah Kinggley, Arthur Benner, Emmet Thompson, Linwood Chase,, Robert _
Ruggles-, James Walsh, "Charles Sporck and Harry Fischer were present.
The latter acted as spokesman for the group (from Pine Crest) ,, and
requested black top; for Windexest Drive* Related and other matters
were discussed,
George Merritt was present and asked.who owned the land upon which
the railroad which supplied the Parklap at the time of the construction
of the dam was built.
Highway matters were also discussed.
Robert Swan and Harold Congdon .were present and requested that North-
up; Drive be black top: - a distance of 1019 feet would be involved.
Mr. -Swan expressed his appreciation to the Board and to Mr. Lackey
for the previous care and maintenance of Nerthup Drive.
Walter Baker was present and discussed with the Board the drainage
along Park Avenue and across the Boulevard., _
Resolution, #33 introduced by Councilman Walkup, seconded by Council-
man Lampson: '
RESOLVED that the Town acquire by purchase 500 feet , or so
much thereof as is necessary,, 12a corrugated metal. pipe and mater-
ial for manhole and catch basins-for the purpose of laying a storn
drain along Park Ave. and along the north side of the Boulevard,
easterly to the existing culvert under the State Highway.
Further resolved, that there be appropriated from any money
available therefor the sum of $990.00, or so much thereof as shall
be necessary for the purpose of the purchase of pipe and 0008bluktion

the driven sewer.

Further resolved that Ernest Lackey, Town Superintendent of
Highways, be and is hereby authorized and directed to order the nec-
essary pipe for the construction of the storm sewer, but in no event
in an amount in excess of 500 feet of pipe.

Ernest Lacks Team Superintendent perintendent of Highways, was present and orally
recommended the. aequisition by purchase by the Torn of a surface mat-
; erial Epd 4tone spreader. -.
Mr. Bentley introduced Resolution No. 34 and moved its adoption,
seconded by Mr. Akins. _
Whereas , the Town Board adopted Resolution No. 28 on the 16th
day of March, 1957, -which authorized the purchase of a Gar Wood Model
5 material spreader from Mott-Manbeck Machinery Co. Inc. , for $556.00
and the trade in of a used Flink spreader for an allowance of $995.00,
and also the purchase of a transport unit for a price of $240.00 and
the purchase of attachments and accessories for. the Gar Wood spreader
for a ;price of $37946 and which. further rejected a claim of Mott-
Manbeck Machinery Co. Inc. , in the amount of $375.00 for the rental
of the Gar Wood spreader prior to its purchase, and
Whereas , the Town Board has given further consideration to the
matter and have come to the conclusion that even though the transport
ui#t and. the attachments and _accessories were actually ordered and de-
livered subsequent to" the- abl.ivery of the Gar Wood spreader, they are
actually used together and, the purchase thereof should be treated as
a unit, and since the combined purchas® 'prioe exceeds the sum of
$1,000.009, the same should be "purchased, after competitive bidding, it

RESOLVED that Resolution No. 28 adopted by this Town Board on
the 16th day of March,, 1057k be and the same hereby is.. repealed and
rescinded, and it is further
RESOLVED that_ the cl'ei.ms of Mott-Ma.nbeck Machinery Co. Inc. ,
in the amount .of $1*00 for the balance, of the purchase price of the
Gar Wood spreader, in the amount of $240.00 for the purchase price of
the transport unit, in the amount of .$379.36 for the purchase price
of attachments and accessories for the Gar Wood spreader and in the
sum of $375,06 for the rental of the Gar Wood spreader be and they
and each of them hereby are denied and rejected, and it is further
_ RESOLVED that, ais reconm.erded by Ernest Lackey, Town Superin-
tendent of-Highways, the Town Board invite sealed bids- for the sale
and delivery to the Town of Queensbury of a new spreader of the Gar
Wood class , Byckeye, . or equal, together with all attachments and
_ accessories required for spreading of all sizes of stone and for a
transport unit, and that the Ton trade in on the purchase price of
the new spreader, attachments, accessories and transport unit, the
Flink spreader now owned: by the Town, and that the Town. Clerk be and
she hereby is authorized and directed to publish a notice to bidders
in substantially the following form:

Bidder must submit .with bid detailed specificati ons , circulars and all
necessary data on equipment_ he proposes to furnish. If- equipment off-.
ared differs from the provisions contained in these specifications ,,
such differences must be 2MI21ained in details and bid will receive
-care consideration i such deviations do_ not depart from the in-
tent of these specifications and are to the best interests of the Town
of Queensbury, as interpreted by the= Town Superintendent of Highways.
Price bid shall include delivery with all transportation charges pre-
paid to the Town of Queensbury Highway Department.
A trade-in allowance for Flink Even-Seal Spreader and net price shall
be indicated in each bid.
Delivery is of essence and award may be based on guaranteed delivery.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids.
Such sealed proposals will be received up to the 13th day of
' April, .1957, at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Clerkts Office, Ridge Road,
in the Town of Queensbury.

RESOLVED the Town of Queensbury accepts is for Highway g y purposes all
the lands as described in a_ deed 'Frances M. Hovey- to the Town of
Queensbury' dated March 2nd, 1957. -This acceptance is upon. the expressed
condition that the County Attorney approves the instrument of conveyance
as to its sufficiency and legality.

Resolution #36- introduced by Justice Bentley seconded by Councilman

RESOLVED. that the Town Superintendent be and is-hereby authorized
and directed to proceed- to grade, level and lay out a new road begin-
ning et the existing Country Club Road-Glen Lake Road in generally a
northeast direction along and upon existing right of way following
the tap of a ridge for a distance of 1500 feet more or less., -as laid
down on a map- prepared by--John Van Duren, Town Surveyor, upon obtaining
all ee6ssary easements of the property owners . ,

for street purposes. by Tom Rogers and Cleo Rogers in the Ridge Meadows
development, no action to be taken until the area will be inspected by
