At a special meeting of the Town. Board .of the Town of Queensbury .held
on the above date at 7 :30 P.M.. at the Clerk's office the following
members, were present::
H, Russell Harris Supervisor
Henry Sleight Justice of the Peace
1 Curtis Lampson Councilman
Raymond.-Walkup Councilman
Absent: Meredith Bentley Justice of the Peace

John B, Van Dusen was also present the board discussed with Mr. Van
Dusen the proposal of engaging him to perform engineering services.. 1
Resolution No. 40. introduced by Councilman Walkup,, seconded by Justice
Sleight:

RESOLVED that John B. Van Dusen,, a duly licensed land surveyor,
be and is hereby engaged to perform the necessary engineering services
for the ensuix.g ten months ;
Further resolved that his compensation be and i"s hereby, fixed'
at, $2,500 for such period payable $250 monthly;
Further resolved that the Su, )ervisor be and i`s hereby authorized
to execute an behalf of the Towr} a contract in detail with, the said
Jahn B. Van ,.Dusen relating to such services.

A,delegation from the Cottage .Hill and Glenacres areas of the Town
I appeared before the board and discussed the proposed operation of
bus lines irk such areasz. The spokesman of the group directed his
inquiries to Mr. Sleight and asked the reason for the granting of
the right to Jesse Burger. Mr. Sleight related in detail the -nego-
tiations had with the Adirondack Trahsit Lines , Inc. 4A&x
! in an effort to have t4em service areas beyond the junction of the
Dixon Road with the Aviation Road .and the Dixon Road and stated that
the Adirondack Transit Lines would not take care of such of the areas
-along the Dixon. Road and areas west of the Cottage Hill section, and
that he felt that voting as he did,, the proposal of Jesse Burger would
service areas beyond Glenacres and Cottage Hill areas and would be for
the best -interests of the Town and the people living in that area.
On motion the meeting was adjourned.

Public Hearing March 14, 1953
At a public hearing on the proposed purchase of equipment held at 7:30
P.M,. at the Clerk' s office on the above date, pursuant to section 142
of the Highway Law, the following members were present :
H, Russell Harris Supervisor
Meredith Bentley Justice of the Peace
Henry, Sleight Justice of the Peace

Ep.rl Carswell was also present.
Supervisor Harris asked if there was anyone appeared opposing purchase
of equipment. There was no response and no one appeared objecting to
the purchase of equipment.
Supervisor Harris read a communication from 1�7r. and Mrs . Tatsey re-
lating to Town expenditures.
Earl Carswell discussed with the Board the shovel.
James Van derHoughton also discussed with the board the equipment.
_..,� After discussion the board felt they should advertise for bids.
Resolution No. 41 introduced by Councilman 1alkup, seconded by Justice
Bentley:
RESOLVED that the Town of Queensbury advertise for sealed pro-
posals to furnish the Town of Queensbury with the following° equipment:
One power shover of not less than 3/8 yd, nor more than 1/2 yd .
capacity truck mounted and in the alternate,
One power shovel of not less than 3/8 yd. nor more than 1/2 yd.
capacity to be mounted on Town truck.

Proposals may be for reconditioned or new equipment; proposals
to be for shovel complete and ready for operation, f.o.b. Queensbury
Town store-house.
Further resolved that the Town Clerk be and is hereby authorized
and directed to cause to be published once in the Glens Falls Times on
tk or before the 16th day of March, 1953, notice to read as follows :
NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Town. Board of the Town of Queensbury
will receive up to 7:30 P.M.. or_ the 26th day of March, 1953 at the
Town Clerk's office on Ridge Road in the Town of Queensbury, sealed
proposals to furnish the Town of Queensbury with the following equip-
ment: ,
