Dear Madam:
This will supplement my letter of November 3 concerning speed
control in the vicinity of the Broad Acres Development, Town of
Queensbury, 'Warren. County. -
The formal application form necessary to support a Commission
order restricting speed on Aviation Road and Dixon Road has been re-
ceived. The order is inclosed . -
As stated ire, my letter of November 3 and as indicated in the
last paragraph of the order, the responsibility for posting the reg-
ulation is with the Town. The required signs are the Commission' s
standard R-5 and R-6. signs. Rill scale prints of these signs were for-
warded on November 3. To reiterate statements made in the November 3
letter, there should be no deviation from the specifications as shown
on the sign prints. The authority for the regulation is this Commission and
its name should appear in 1/2 inch letters on the bottoms of all signs
as shown on the prints .
Instructions for signing linear speed restrictions are given on
pages 86 and 87 of the Commission' s Manual of Uniform Traffic Con=
trot Devices.. It is essential that these instructions be followed,
The legality of the regulation is dependent on this as well, as the
use of the standard signs.
An extra copy of this letter and of the speed restriction
-order Is enclosed for the information and use of your Town Highway
Superintendent.
Very truly yours,

Dear Mr. Harris
j
j We would like to know if it is possible to have a speed zone
on Aviation and Dixon Roads of thirty (30) miles per hour. We under-
stand the Broad Acres Pivid Association has had a survey made in their
area and the insurance -recommendation is as above.
In addition to this , we would like a speed zone established of
twenty. (20) miles per hour on our cross streets of Hillcrest Avenue ,
!, Prospect Drive , and Cottage Hill Road. ,1e have received the slow signs
We asked for, but not the stop signs. The slow signs are not sufficient
as there have been three near accidents at both ends of Cottage Hill
Road recently. We as17, that this matter be attended to at once .
Ile would be interested in knowing if a constable has been appoint-
ed yet .as a traffic enforcement officer for the town.
May we please rear from you at once on these matters?
Very truly yours ,
