Mrs. Laura. Lord and Mrs. Daley of the West Glens Falls Cemetery Asso- ciation were present and orally requested permission to clean the West Glens Falls Cemetery, old part,. Frank Cowles, the cemetery commissioner who was also present, stated he had no ,objection to granting their request. Dr. Sellinger, health officer,: Was also present and rendered his re- port which was received and placed on file. Leslie Hillis,, president, Emmett Witherill, Vic*4President, Robert Jennings, Secretary and Max Schenks, treasurer of the Adirondack Racing Association, were P186 present. Mr. Jennings acted as spokes- man. The clerk read the following communication from said Association: 429 r r s V April 26, 1952 Members of the Town Board, Y Town Vt Queensbury Gentlemen: The Adirondack Racing Association of West Glens Falls does here- with make application for the right to conduct Stock Car Races at the Adirondack Speedway in West Glens Falls on Sundays. In accordance with the newly revised Blue Laws of the -State of New York,. the State has given permission for such events to be held on Sundays,. with the approval of the local Township. Signed: Robert G. Jennings Secretary - The board generally discussed the matter with the officers of the Association. Joe Gersten, Edgar Grant and Harold Hewitt were present. Mr. Grant re- quested the extension of the Ridge Road. water district to include his property which is just north of the present north line of the district. Doan -Howland and Alton Bartholomew were present and requested the ex- tension of water mains in Montrey Road. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dresley, Airs. Burnett, Mr. and Mrs. R,Wayne Bentley, Mr, and Mrs. Td Meron and Thelma Barrett were also present and request- ed the repair of `Warren Street- in the town of Queensbtry. Joseph Dresley acted as spokesman. The board informed this group that there was an .item in the present budget to repair the street and that some- time r in the. ,future the Town Superintendent would begin the work. Roy Goodspeed was also present and talked with the board in reference td dumping along upper Sherman Avenue. The matter was generally dis- cussed with Mr. Goodspeed and his attention was called to the Town ordinance covering such situation. A deed from D-J. The following 12 solution No. 9, introduced by Justice Sleight and seconded by Councilman Lampson, was adopted: Resolved that the Harrisena Men's Group be and is hereby author- ized to care for the Seeley and John J. Harris Memorial Cemeteries; and to cut and remove weeds,. brush and grass from each thereof. at: -- least three times between May 19 1952 and October 1, 1952. It is fur- ther resolved that the sum of $100 be and is hereby appropriated for such work in the Seelye Cemetery and $75 for the John J. Harris Mem- orial Cemetery. t Duly adopted by the following vote: - Ayes- Mr. Walkup, Mr. Bentley, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Sleight and Mr. Harris Noes - none introduced by Councilman Lampson, seconded by Justice Bentley: Resolved that the Kest Glens Falls Cemetery Association be and is hereby authorized to care for the West Glens Falls Cemetery, "old part", and to cut and remove weeds, brush and grass from such ceme- tery-at least three times between May 1, 1952 and October 1, 1952. It is further resolved that the sum of One Hundred Dollars .be and is hereby appropriated for said work for the West Glens ,Falls Cemetery, old part. State Traffic Comm. at Albany, relative to the in - stallation of "Fire House" signs on either side of our firehouse and also the installation of a red traffic light that could be turned ors A the time of an alarm. I was informed by the N.Y. State traffic Comm. that at oUr particular location the- installation of such signs and fights.- woVl.d. be under the jurisdiction of the Town Board,. ' T1W installation of these signs and light are required due to the dangerous traffic condition during an alarm when perhaps W, of our firemen &e coming to the firehouse over Richardson Ste and encountering L"azerne Endo traffic at the firehouse. This condition hAs already caused several accidents at this point. ' We 'therefore hereby request the installation of N.Y. State stand- ard Ali'-1LU, 32" z 24" .
