Dear Mr. Wallace, As you know, my Tastee-Freez store is located on upper Glen Street between Hamburger Haven and the Buffet. The fire insurance rates that I. have to pay are very, very high because I am in an un- protected'area even though the city water line is1within. 75 feet of the store. I respectfully request that a fire plug be installed somewhere along the line that would be available to that' particular section. This would not only decrease our fire rates over 2/3 but would give us the protection we desire. Respectfully, (Signed) T.E. Simon Resolution No. 62 introduced by Councilman Lampson, seconded by Jus ce Sleight: It is resolved that there be installed on the water main along the Glens Falls-Lake George Highway two fire hydrants between the f '473 Glendale Fruit Store and Wilkie's.. e ('' Duly adopted by the following vote: e Ayes - Mr. Walkup, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Sleight and Mr. Harris. Dear Sir: We have recently been informed that your Department has completed the installation of Signal 11F - Warren County, on Route US 9, at its intersection with Foster Avenue, in the Town of Queensbury, Warren ' County. ' Our information indicates that instead of steady red indications being displayed on- all faces during the emergency period, the signal as presently installed displays steady red indications north and south on Route US 9 and a steady green indication west on Foster ,Avenue. Since Foster ,Avenue is a short dead end street carrying little or no traffic- that would interfere with the movement of fire apparatus during emer- gency periods, we are willing; to amend our permit to give legal status to the steady green on Foster Avenue during the emergency, operation of the signal. This operation will also allow the legal movement of firemen's personally owned vehicles from Foster Avenue on to Route US 9 when they are accompanying; the fire apparatus. Enclosed is a rider to our permit of June 11, 1951 covering the display of green indication on Foster Avenue during the emergency operation of the signal.
