Proposed Crib Relocation & Deck Reconstruction Project
This project will consist of restoration work on a dock located on a 1.1 Acre lot(Tax map 239.18-
1-23)as shown in figure 1. In 1988 a scenic easement on this lot was granted to the Lake George
Land Conservancy, the terms of which allow the applicant rights to access, use, and maintain the
dock. Figure 1 shows the correct placement of the dock on that property but the shape and
configuration of the dock is incorrect and shown in greater detail in subsequent figures.

Figure 2 shows a detail plan view of the existing dock and boathouse including areas now
supported by stone cribs. The crib leg shown in black in figure 3 is severely canted due to
unequal surface loading resulting from use of a boat-lifting hoist straddling the lower slip in that
figure. As a result, the roof support of the boat house has been supplemented by new 6x6 inch
timbers which extent vertically down from the roof joists directly to a rock ledge beneath the
dock.
The first proposed step in dock restoration is the total removal of the 101 ft2 stone crib shown in
figure 3. Its function will be replaced by a narrow wooden walk-way supported by the new
vertical support timbers cited above.
