The Board convened at 7:30 P.M.
Councilman Lampson,Committee on Dump, reported that he had talked with
Mr. Meehan, a Councilman o f the City of Glens Falls, who advised him
that the City Committee on Dump would meet with the Town Board at a
convenient time to discuss the dump situation.
Mr. E.L.H. Meyers , Superintendent of the Glens Fa11s .� ter Dept. ,
was present and requested that a Committee of this Board .be appointed
to investigate and order necessary materials for the by-pass in the
extension of the North Glens Falls Water District.
Fred Alexep called on the Board in reference to the old Town road(and
leading from the State Road along the shore line of Lake George/by his
dock to ghat was .formerly the Allen Boat House, and requested that the
road be discontinued.

The Board convened at 7.30 P.M.
Also Present: Ernest Lackey, Town Superintendent of Highways
Minutes- of meetings held on Feb. 24th and March 10th were read and
apprb*ed.
The pry*ilege of the floor was extended to Mr. Fred Field of Lake
Sunnys de who requested that the road leading from the Country Club
into Capt. Davis ' place be fixed.
Mr. James Duel lly Qiee�predidevtoof'Ith.eoWestr,GiensciFalls Fire Co. ,
with other members of the Company, called on the Board in reference
to letting contracts for fire protection in the Town of Queensbury.
He requested that the Board enter in no contracts without an

opportunity for the .West Glens Falls Fire Co. to discuss the same
with the -Board.
France Lundenburg and a `committee .called on ;the Board in reference
to the condition of the Meadowbrook Road.
A petition approving the holding of a carnival by the Flying 20 :Club
on the car barn lot. , Bldd. , was read to the Board. The petition was
presented by Mr. William Brown and June C. Waller.
The following, resolution was adopted:

It is hereby resolved that permission to hold a carnival in the
Town of Queensbury on the Hudson Transportation Corp, lot on the Boule-
vard in the Town of Queensbury is hereby granted as follows:, '
j Sponsors Flying Twenty Club Inc.
Carnival Caledonia Shows
Date . . . . . . May 31st, 1948 to June 5th, 1948 inclusive.
Said carnival shall operate only between the hours of 12 noon
to 11 P.M. in the evening of each day and not otherwise.
And it is further resolved that the license fee for the dates
aforesaid is One Hundred (100.00) Dollars and the Town Clerk be- and
is hereby authorized and directed to issue a license to hold such
carnival to the parties hereinbefore mentioned at the times and date
herein mentioned upon the payment of the said fee of $100.00

The Clerk read an application from Charles C. Beers for appointment
to the position of School Director to fill a vacancy.

It is resolved that Charles C. Beers be and is hereby appoint-
ed director of schools for the Town of Queensbury until Dec. 31st,
1951.

The Clerk read a communication from James O. Shepard which stated in
substance that on Feb. 28th while the said Shepard's car was parked
on Ft. Amherst Road, a snow-plow passed and sideswiped it damaging
the front fender quite badly and that the probable repair will cost
between 15 and $25.
The Clerk read the statement of the Supervisor of the moneys received
and disbursed during the month of February, and the ploced on file.
The Board generally discussed with the Town Superintere At of High-
ways the moneys to be spent under item 1 of the Highway Fund. After
discussion, the Board and the Town Superintendent of Highways signed
the agreement releasing the moneys for item 1 of the Highway Fund.
The Clerk read the following communication:

Gentlemen:
I
That there may be no confusion but a complete understanding,
we are hereby notifying you that this Department is not billing any
water rents outside of the City, the service of which is within the
North Glens Falls Water Districts, the West Glens Falls Water Dis -
trict and the Ridge Road Water District.
There are some water rents in ,the North Glens Falls Water Dis-
trict which this Department has billed and which have not been paid.
Not being certain as to, the legal liability for payment thereof, I
am assuming and bespeak the cooperation of your Board in the collect-
ion of these rents and the turning over to this Department of the
proceeds.
It is hoped and expected that the necessary measuring degices
can be installed on the .Mains feeding these Districts prior to
May 1st, next.
