Wish you had included papers. Some of the roads in western part of town, ditches are full of them, under pine trees. Also wish you h a d pass ed a law putting speed limit o n Ridge Road and the Farm to Market Road. One is needed there very badly. Gentlemen: In accordance with an Ordinance adopted by the Common Council of this City, dated March 18, 1948 in regards to service rendered by the Glens Falls Fire Department to the Town of Queensbury and the payment for same by the Town of Queensbury, the following bills for such service are rendered: June 28, 1948 Home of Jesse Kennedy, Aviation Road 4:11 P.M. to 4:42 P.M. 31 minutes 475.00 (A bill for the above fire was previously rendered) August 19, 1948. Aug. 28, 3,948 Queensbury Town Board. Dear Sirs : Vie, the undersigned, do hereby submit our bid for the construction of 133 Meter Vault for Ridge Road Water District. Said Vault to be one (1). foot below the main, four (4) feet wide by twelve (12) feet long, (6) feet high inside. To be constructed of cement blocks, filled with poured cement floor and ;top,reinforced sides and top. -.Cast iron man hole and cover. Pavement to be broken and replaced. Dunn In the matter of the Assembly Point road, the members of the Board will meet as a committee at Assembly .Paint to go over the road on September 9th, 1948. In the matter of the creation of a fire protection district, Arthur Duell, president of the West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Co. , # 1 Inc. , was present and spoke in favor of the establishment of a fire pro 6 tection district. James Duell and Frank Harris were also present. Mr. Beecher S. Clother, Attorney, presented a resolution which he requested the Town Board to adopt. After discussion, among the mem- bers of the Board and the persons present In reference to fire pro- tection, the following resolution was adopted: Resolution ntroduced by Justice Bentley, seconded by Councilman Sampson: RESOLVED that the town board of the town of Queensbury on its own motion.., :and without petition, pursuant to subdivision 2 of Section 170 of the Town Law,. .will meet at the Mohican Grange Hall, Oneida Corners in said town on the 20th day of September, 1948, at 7:30 P.M. for the purpose of considering the establishment of a fire protection district for all of the territory in said town of Queensbury , which fire protection district will be bounded as follows : on the south by i the Hudson River; on the east by the Washington County Line; on the north by the town of Fort Ann, town of Bolton, the waters of Lake � George and town of Caldwell; and on the west by.-he town of Caldwell and town of Luzerne, excepting the territory within the City of Glens and to hear. any and all persons interested In the subject thereof, o concerning the same. FURTHER RESOLVED that the town clerk give public notice of said hear- ing pursuant to the provisions of law.
