SUPERVISOR CHAMPAGNE OPENED THE MEETING...
TOPIC: SECURITY TOWN OFFICES
DISCUSSION: Several incidents were discussed where town personnel were threatened, a discussion was
held on how to handle difficult situations and what types of security could be initiated ...
Lieutenant Piper, spoke on alarm systems... suggested panic alarms be installed, the alarm company would
contact the Sheriffs Office of an alarm activation.
A determination was made that a more sophisticated system be installed with panic alarms in each office, it
was also suggested that the alarm not only be connected to the alarm service but also to Building and
Grounds Dept. .. Another suggestion was made that sensitivity training be made available to the
employees, a committee was formed to discuss this possibility, Councilman Pliney Tucker, Deputy
Highway Supt. Rick Missita, Assessor Helen Otte and Town Clerk Darleen Dougher requested to be on the
committee.
It was also suggested to remodel the down stairs offices to give more security, Mr. Round requested a
counter that would serve the public.
