for the laying of an 8" cast iron main along Bay Road in,accordance
with the plan-afid specifications for said work, be and the same is
hereby. accepted.
Further resolved that the Supervisor be and is hereby authorized
and directed to enter into a Contract with the said Waggaman and
Collyer , Contractor Inc.,. in accordance with,the terms and conditions
of said plans, specifications and Bid.
Further resolved that the Bids of Howard LaRose and Burr M, Stark
befand the same are hereby rejected and that the, Clerk be and is hereby
author zed and.directed to return certified checks submitted with the
bids of How4rd, LaRose and Burr M, Stark to the owners thereof.

Harold Akins and Ray Hopkins from the West Glens Falls Volunteer Dire
Department, Ralph Bean and Alger Mason from the North Glens Falls Vol-
unteer Fire Department, and Leon Nassivera from the South Glens Falls
Volunteer Fire Department, were present and discussed with the Beard
proposed contracts between the Fire Companies and the Queensbury Fire
Protection District;

Also present: Ralph Bean, Vernon West, Mr, Freelove, Dr. Wiswall,
Wheeler Howe, Ray Hopkins, Mr. Martell and Kenneth Crossman, of
the Volunteer Fire Companies of Queensbury.
The Board generally discussed with the people present from the various
Fire Companies of Queensbury, the proposed fire protection contract
between the Fire Protection District and the Fire Companies.

Mr. Ernest B. 'heeler and F. Ruddeek of the Veterans of Forajgn Mars
of Glens AblIss ►ere present and presented a petition favoring a
carnival. to bQ sponsored by the said Veterans of Foreign Mars. Petition
was signed,by approximately 66 people.
After discussion, the following resolution was adopted:

OLVED that the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Glens Falls be
a hereby granted a permit or license to sponsor a. carnival'°known
as the $ do V Carnival, for the week of June 6th to 11th 1949 ' both
days inclusive, upon the payment of the license fee Of``#100.
it is further resolved that t1te Clerk be and is hereby authori-
zed to issue said license upon the payment of the said fee of ;100.

The Board convened at 7:30 P.M.
Minutes of meetings held on April 23rd, April 25th and May 12th were
read and approved.
Dr. 'Henry Clarke, Health Officer, was also present and discussed the
health situation with the Board.
Mr. and Mrs. Fenwick Nevins were also present discussed their water
bill with Mr. Wallace and the Town Board. - —
Ernest L.H. Meyer was also present and presented the following letter
which the Clerk read to the Board:
