September 17, 1951 Russell Harris , Supervisor Town Board Town of Queensbury Star Route Glens Falls, New York Dear Mr. Harris : Thank you for your letter of the 13th concerning the Bid Proposals. Our bid on the half-ton pickup was for a delux pickup ls : a "5- STAR EXTRA CAB" which has the following extra features over the "5- STAR CAB" (STANDARD). 1. Foam rubber cushions 2. Cab lined for the main with 11" glass wool insulation for sound d6adener. 3. Inside doors trimmed with above 4. Two adjustable visors instead of one. 5. Arm rests. 6. Cigar lighter. 7. Two outside door locks 8. Lock on dispatch box : (Glove compartment. ) 9. ' Dome light with automatic switches on doors. i This cab costs $48.00 more than the standard. We also quoted on the V-8 engine which is $34.11 more than the straight "SIX". Our price includes undercoating not only the underbody, but also inside the box; and the tires are the heaviest for this size unit - 650 x 16 6-ply instead of the usual 600 x 16 4-ply thus in - creasing your engineered payload by 800 pounds. If you desire a truck with Standard Cab and 6 cylinder engine, the price would be $1559.33 as compared to $1641.44 as we quoted. Our quotations include trucks that are ready to go with all nec- essary equipment-4eaters, directionals, etc. P.S. I notice the quotation calls for 670 x 16 6-ply tires. This was a misprint, it should read 650 x 16 6-ply. A.L. PARSONS & SON MOTOR CORP. September 21, 1951 Town Board Town of Queensbury Highway Qommittee Att: ,r. Henry Sleight. Dear Mr. Sleight: Invresponse 'tto our talk of the morning of September 20th con - cerning our bid on, F-7 snow plow, I have the following information: 369 If you don't take any snow plow equipment, you may deduct from our .price of $9500, $2000. The cost of the machine with a front mounted pump would amount to an additional $125 bringing the total cost to $9625 as compared to the stripped truck at the price of $7500.00 In talking to Mr. Tremper, he informed me that it would cost you approximately $500 to install your old snow plow equipment to your new unit - $125 for the front mounted pump, approximately $100 for the power take-off for the pump, and other necessary repairs to your plows , parts , universal joints , labor, etc. It would run pretty close to $250 to $275 In other words, you would save $1500 by using your old plows. However, keep in mind that it is not new equipment throughout. Also, Mr. Tremper informed me that you may have a Frink plow if so desired instead of a Ross plow at no additional cost. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call on us. Thanking you for your kindness , I remain, - (A.R. Kuolt) STANTON R. TREMPER Red Hook, N.Y.
