FIELD MARY:CORRECTIONS

This air balance report is based on actual field readings and measurements taken from the store’s HVAC systems during
operation.All systems were also balanced to within +/-10%of design unless noted otherwise.
The following corrections were performed by Melink and/or the contractors on-site.
Arrival and Contact Field Notes:
Melink arrived onsite and met with the Superintendent,George.The scope of work was discussed and access was
granted to all areas of the store needed to complete the scope.
The visit began with initial safety inspections and verification of relocated or newly installed diffusers.
Prior to beginning the balance,Melink was informed that the fitting rooms area was uncomfortable and there have been
many customer complaints.
Roof Top Unit "RTU"Field Not
This condensed scope balance did not include the RTU's,only diffusers that had been relocated or newly installed.No
RTU unit or test data was collected.
Exhaust Fan Field Notes:
The restroom exhaust fan was not included in the scope,only the two diffusers in the restrooms.No unit or test datawascollectedfromthisfan.
TF-2 was found to be operational upon initial inspection,however this unit is installed backwards and is providing
exhaust from the open office area.This will need to be corrected in order to operate as designed.It should be notedthatthefanspeedwassetandmarked,in order to avoid an additionally revisit for this fan,should this be approved by the
appropriate party.

Many diffuser were found to be operating below design airflow with the volume dampers 100%open.This includes the
fitting rooms,open office,AP office and market area.A full balance of these systems should be performed in order to
ensure overall comfort.
Diffusers that were operating at or above near design airflow were properly balanced for airflow.
Air Distribution EF Field Note:
TF-2 was measured and the speed control marked,although this fan is installed backwards.
The exhaust fan which serves the restrooms is operating below design airflow.A full balance of this system should be
performed in order to ensure proper exhaust airflow.
Building Balance and Project Completion Field Note:
Upon completion of the balance Melink spoke again with the Superintendent,George as well as the PMT.All punchlistitemswerediscussedaswellastheoverallresultsofthebalance.

The following list details the remaining deficiencies of the store’s HVAC and exhaust systems.These corrections are
necessary to comply with the design specifications.

1:Reverse orientation of TF-2,which serves the TSC room Mechanical
TF-2 which serves the TSC room is installed backwards and is exhausting air from the office area into the
TSC room.This fan must be reversed in order to provide exhaust to the TSC room.It should be noted
that this fan is balanced and the speed control position marked.

Diffuser XM which serves the open office area is operating below design airflow with the damper 100%
open.A full balance of the RTU and connected load should be performed in order to ensure comfort in
this area

Diffuser XL which serves the AP office has no recordable airflow with the damper 100%open.The RTU
should be investigated for proper operation andafullbalanceoftheRTUandconnectedloadshouldbeperformedinordertoensurecomfortinthisarea.
4;Performafullbalanceoftheexhaustfanwhichservestherestrooms.Owner
The exhaust grilles which serve both the men's and women's restrooms are operating below design
airflow with the dampers 100%open.A full balance of this exhaust fan is recommended in order to
ensure proper exhaust airflow
5:Perform a full balance of the RTU which serves the fitting rooms.Owner
The fitting room diffusers are operating below design airflow with the dampers 100%open.A full
balance of the RTU and the connected load should be performed in order to properly balance these
diffusers and ensure comfort in the conditioned space.
6:Perform a full balance of the RTU which serves the market area.Owner
The market area diffusers are operating below design airflow with the dampers 100%open.A full
balance of the RTU and the conditioned space should be performed in order to properly balance these
grilles as well and ensure comfort in the conditioned space.
Melink recommends a revisit due to the airflow deficiencies listed above.
