1941-12-09 REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 9th,1941 At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury head; on the above date at 7:30 P.M. at the Clerks office the following menbers were present, JABEZ N. SUPERVISOR Curtis Lampson, Councilman Charles Nobles, Justice of Peace Meredith Bentley, Justice of -Peace Ralph a h Been f p , Justice of Peace H.-w, Hugsell Harris, Town Superintendent of Highways, also Pre aa;ent. Minutes of meetings held on November 45th and ovember 26th,1941 were read and after Correction were approved. The` privelege of the floor was extended to Mr. C. V.Peters who, presented two deeds from himself to the Town of ,Queensbury and`"' one deed from the City of Glens Falls to the Town of Queensbury granting property therein to the said Town of Queenabury for highway purposes. The. board generally disqussed the matters with Her. Peters and Thomson Griffin and Robert Imrie attorney who appeared for Mr. Peters and the following resolution was introduced. Resolution # 65, Introduced by Mr. Ingalsbe, seconded by Mr. Lamps op.„ �. iEjj S, 2 deeds dated the 8th day of Dec. ,1941 have been tendered to the Town of Queensbury by Mr. C.V.Peters which e Convey land of fir. C..V.Peters to the Town of Queensbury for the purpose of developing 2 public roads, and, 'WHEREAS, a deed dated the 2nd day of Dec. ; 1941 has been tendered to the Town of Queensbury b the City y y of Glens Falls, Which conveys to said Town the right to construct a public road on the land thereinedescribed, and, WHEREA$ after a discussion of the matter it was decided- to be .highly Senirable to open a Town road over the premises of said Peters, City of Glens Falls and one Chapman, and , r WHEREAS it was learned that said Peters intends to sub-divide his property adjanent to the land offered to the Town of Queensbury and `to sell such sub-divided land, as shown on a map of the 1st sub-division of lands of C.V.Peters this day submitted to this Board for 'a,pproval,for building sites for residence purposes,if a town road is put through, and, WHEREAS the development of said property will increase its taxable value and is otherwise disirable, it is, RESOLVED that the Town of Queensbury accept the deeds to the land so offered, and itis further, RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be, and he hereby is directed and authorized to record the said deeds in the Warren County Clerk' s office, and it is further RESOLVED that the new road running in j , g a generally North-South direction over the seterly part of the Lands of said Peters and over the lands of the City of Glens Falls, be opened, as faras weather conditions permit this year, and that the grading full width of the right of way shall be completed as soon as practicable in the spring of 1942, and it is further, RESOLVED that the neadtbe ;hard surfaced built with stone to crowned and rolled with a 10 ton roller and bituminous bonded to the same penetration and in the same manner as other black Y __ Law , , . top roads of the Town. Such method tp ,progress with the building of houses along such road and it is further RESOLVED that the Town of 4ueensbury shall grant ease- ments or rights of way necessary to the normal installation of utilit*es for residence, over, under or along side the streets accepted, and it is further RESOLVED that the map ,pf the first club-division of the lands of C.V.Peters be and the same hereby is approved as submitted, and it is further, RESOLVED that the road, running North-South as described be and the same hereby is given the name"�UAKER 'HI'LL Road" and it is further RESOLVED that the above conveyances of%A'bperty to the Town fore highway purposes be and the same is hereby accepted subject th the approval of the County attorney as to title and instruments of conveyance. Duly adopted by the following vote:- Ayes:-Mr. Been, Mr. Xobles, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Bentley and Mr. Ingalsbe. Floes:- None. The clerk read a communication from Owen B.
