1944-08-03 SP 21 � Resolution No. 23 Introduced by Justice Sleight, seconded by Councilman Lampson It was resolved that Millard Coons be and to hereby appointed Town attendance officer for the schools of the Town of ' . Queensbury outside of District 2 for the school year of 1944 and 1945 an an annual salary of $200 payable as follows; $20.00 per month for ten months on the presentation of properly verified bills for same presented to the supervisor. Further resolved that said appointment is subject to the approval of the district superintendent of schools. Duly adopted by the following vote ; Ayes-Mr Walkup, Mr. Bentley„ Mr. Lampson, Mr, Sleight and Mr Fowler. Noes-None. The clerk read the st4tement of the Supervisor showing receipts and disbursements for the month June, 1944 and same placed on file. The board audited cliames as follows . Special meeting August 3rd,1944 At a special meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury held on the bove date at the clerk's office, the following members were present. D. Elmer Fowler Supervisor Henry Sleight Justice of the peace Meredith Bentley Justice of the peace Curtis Lampson Councilman Ravmond Wa1)Qup Councilman A committee of taxpayers and residents from ridge road called on the board in reference to a survey of the City line which showed a change in the line from what had always been considered the line. The committee present were Mr. & Mrs E. Vandenburgh, Mr. L. Btebblfta�-;and Mr, R. Cashion. The committee - informed the board that the survey made by Mr Reardon -had shown that uXzr&U atasasxX1xmx=eakyxxxdx parts of several parcels land which had always been assedaed in the Town of Queensbury were shown by the survey made by Mr Reardon to be in the City of Glens Falls, The Board generally diswussed the 1 _ matter with the committee and with Mr H. Osborne County Supt. of Highways who also was present. Resolution 24 Introdused. by Mr Bentley, seconded by Mr Sleight It was resolved that Mr Osborne County Superintendent of Highways be and is hereby requested to make a survey of the North boundary line between the City of Glens Falls. and the Town of Queensbury and from said survey to make a map .showing the boundaries of the various property owners easterly from the east side of Ridge Road 216 along said line. Duly adopted by the following vote Ayes- Mr Walkup, Mr. Bentley, Mr Lampson, fir Sleight and Mr. Fowler. Niles None. The Board, "bxtilbed the the hswosurvsy line with the committee and Mr. Osborne. Mr. D. .Elmer Fowler Supervisor August 16th 1944 Glens Falls , N.Y. Dear Sir: P Pursuant to the request of your Town Board at the meeting held z a on August 3, 1944, I have made an investigation regaring the location of the Glens Falls City line in the vicinity of Ridge roard. The information obtained seems to indicate that this line has not been run since it was originally established, until the recent survey by the City whiftc3Ishave checked and found to be as indicated on the enclosed map. I trust that this information will prove of value. If I can be of further service in this matter do �not hesitate to ask. Very truly Yours Herrick Osborne County Suet of Highways* The clerk read a communication from Ernest L.H. Meyers of the Water Department of the City of Glens Falls requesting the Board to name a committee to act with a committee from the common Council of the City of Glens Falls to provide a uniformed method of street numbering on streets which run a long or extend from the city of Glens Falls into the Town of Queensbu ry. Mr. Fowler appointed Mr Bentley and Mr. Lampson to act with -� the Committee from the Common Council. The clerk read a communication from Frances Goldsmith trustee of school district 13 requesting that Lucy Akins be appointed attendance officer for that district. Said district to pay salary. IL he Board generally discussed the matter and divided that the board had no jurisdiction in the matter and that it was up to the trustee of- the district.
