Re: Davidson Residence— 16 Northup Drive—Replacement Septic System
Dear Dave:
This letter is to inform you that we inspected the completed septic system for the Davidson
Residence on 16 Northup Drive in the Town of Queensbury on November 17, 2008.
The septic system as installed was for a 3 bedroom house and consisted of the existing 1,250 gallon
septic tank, a new distribution box and 4 — 50 ft long absorption laterals constructed with stone and
perforated pipe. The system conforms to the requirements of the approved design letter.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Thomas R. Center Jr, P.E.

Test Hole — 16 Northup Drive
Test hole indicated that loamy fine sand and medium sand present. No mottling or groundwater
observed in the test hole. Sand compact and slightly firm at greater depths. Soils good for standard
absorption system, depending on percolation rate soils may need to be modified if too fast. Please call
with any questions.

Re: Replacement Septic System
Davidson Residence— 16 Northup Drive, Queensbury,NY
Dear Dan:
On 11/7/08, we performed a deep soil test pit and percolation test in the area of the proposed
replacement absorption field. The tests were performed to the west of the existing residence in
the location-where construction of a replacement leach field is proposed. The current residence
has an existing failed septic system which will be decommissioned upon completion and
certification of the replacement system.
The results of the testing are as follows:
0—8 " Topsoil Percolation Test
8 —20 " Loamy Medium Fine Sand Stabilization perc rate - 1"in 1 min., 02 sec.
20—75" Medium Fine Sand
No groundwater or mottling observed
The hole was presoaked and the test was run until it stabilized with three consecutive runs of
1:00, 1:01 and 1:02 respectively.
The design flow for this 3 bedroom residence at 150 gpd per bedroom requires 187 if of
absorption trench. The new absorption system for the proposed residence should consist of the
existing 1,000 gallon septic tank located on the west side of the residence and a distribution box
with 4— 50 foot long laterals(2001f) located to the west of the residence.
We have included a Standard Septic System Detail Sheet for your files and for use by the
contractor during construction.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Thomas R. Center Jr., P.E.
