RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT WITH QUEENSBURY
FAMILY OF EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR PROVISION OF FUNDING
FOR 2006 HUDSON VALLEY VOLUNTEER FIREMEN’S CONVENTION

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 276,2005, the Queensbury Town Board entered into an
Agreement with the Queensbury Family of Emergency Services organization for provision of funding
in connection with the 2006 Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Convention (Convention) to be held
in Queensbury, and
WHEREAS, since the Town of Queensbury’s 2005 Agreement with Warren County regarding

Local Tourism Promotion and Convention Development expired on December 31, 2005 the Town
could only enter into an Agreement for 2005 for one-half (1/2) of the funds requested by the
Queensbury Family of Emergency Services, and
WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury entered into a Local Tourism Promotion and
Convention Development Agreement with Warren County for 2006 which Agreement provides for an
additional $15,000 which could be available for this Convention, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board again determines that supporting this Convention will promote
the convention and local tourism thereby enhancing the local economy, and
WHEREAS, the Town wishes to use occupancy tax funds received from Warren County to
fund this, and
WHEREAS, a proposed Agreement has been presented at this meeting,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby approves of the Agreement between
the Town and the Queensbury Family of Emergency Services organization for provision of $15,000 in
funding related to the 2006 Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Convention to be held in Queensbury
substantially in the form presented at this meeting and authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor to
execute the Agreement with funding to be paid for from the appropriate Town account, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that such Agreement is expressly contingent upon the Town Budget Officer
confirming that the Town has sufficient remaining unallocated occupancy tax funds available from
Warren County.
