The minimum bolt tension,method of tightening and method of inspecting installed bolts shall be as specified in AISC "Specifications for Structural Joints Using ASTMA-325 or A-490 Bolts", and the commentary that follows. Use of a calibrated torque wrench on a previously tightened bolt is not an acceptable method of inspection. High-strength,slip-critical connections: continuous observation of all bolted connections for required size,location and number of bolts. Verify that the specified procedure for installation is properly used for tightening bolts.
