May 9th 1939
At a special Meeting of the Town •Poard of the Town Of C�ueensbury, held at
the above date at 7.P.M. At the Town Clerk' s Office , the following members
were present.

Resolution ` Introduced by Mr Lampson seconded by Mr Been
it was resolved that Tyr Nobles be and is hereby appointed a committee of one
to confer with the County attorney relative to the legality of the Town taking
steps to eliminattidust condition on the Coolidge ave extension a private road
in the Town of jueensbury.
Duly adopted by the following vote
Ayes Mr Been - Mr Noble - Mr Eanpson - Mr Bentley- Mr Fowler

Resolution # 4 Introduced by Mr Been seconded by Mr Bentley
Whereas the Town oard by resolution # 21 do 25 authorized the Town Supt,
of Highway to lease from R.K. Clifford 1 model S allis chalmers. Rull dozer
with scraper,operator and supplies for a aaxinuns period of 25 days at )32,00
and
TJhereas the maximun period for the lease of said equipment has expired
and it is claim ad advisable for the propercarring on said work to renew
the lease of said equipment for an additional period of 5 days
Therefore be it resolved that the Town Supt,of Highways be and hereby is
authorized to contenies said lease of said equipment for a period not exceed
5 days at 32.u0 per day.

and supplies for the glen Lake W.P.A.pro,jeet
Therefore be it resolved that the Town Supt, of Highways be and hereby
is authorized to lease for use on the Glen sake 11MA. pro eat from Daniel. Lewis
one Ford VS - 2 yard truck with driver and supplies R 1.25 per hour for a
period not to exceed twenty days

the office of the Town Clerk in said Town on the 13th day of May, 1939, , PRESEXT:

Yr. Nobles, Justice introduced Resolution Noy , Seconded by fur Lampson,
VVlil,MAS, Senator Feinberg irtt'roduo-ed Bill Int. No. 22701, third reading
No. 1454, dated Hay 15th, 1939, which bill provides for the annexing to ,the
City of Glens Falls a portion of the Town of Zueensbury commonly known as
1�reAdacres, and
Whereas, ;Said territory consists of a new devel.opement and houses recently
constructed with assessed valuation of nearly X200, 000. and in which territory
there are no persons residing who are on relief, and
Whereas, In other parts of the Town adjoining the City .'afx Glens Falls,
many of the resident# are on relief and it costs the taxpayers of the town a
large amount of money each year to care for such persons, and
i?(11MEAS, the said Town Raard deem it an injustice to the remaining
taxpayers in the Town of Oueensbury to allow or permit the residents in this
particular section to escape the responsibility of assisting; in caring for the
needy in the Town,
RESOLVED, That it is the opinon of the Board that said bill should not
pass the Senate or Assembly, It is further
RESOLVED, That this board heartily and vigorously oppose the passage of
said bill, it is further
RESOLVED, That the Town Board feel that the Senator and Assemblyman are
not ,justified in introducing such an important bill at such a late date, which
does not afford those opposing to be heard before the proper committees or afford
sufficient time to furnish to the Senator and Member of Assembly petition showing
the opposition to said bill, it is further
RESOLVED , That the Senator and Assemblyman from this District be requeste
to use their honest and best efforts to prevent the passage of this bill,
It is further
RESOLVED, That the Town Clerk be and hereby is authorized and directed to
send a certified copy of this resolution to the Senator and Assemblyman from
this
District.
Above resolution duly adopted on following vote:

Resolution 77 35 _ Introduced by Mr P entley seconded by Mr Lampson,
it was: ::xesolved that the supervisor be and is hereby authorised to sign
and execute a contract between the Town of (ueen,sbury , jVarren Counter„,and Warren
County Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals, to authorized the
said i'Parren County Society for the prevention of Caulelty to anfmals
through its agent to capture and impoundage of all dogs found unlicensed and ”
running at large in the Town of Zueensbury, in Violation of the provisions of*
article 1 of the Agri-culture & Markets Law, Chapter 48- Law of 1922 was
amended relating; to the licenseing of dogs and care for and to dispose of any
such dogs in the maner as provided by law at the following rates .5OX
per day for each dog impounded not to exceed five days except dogs confined by
order of the Town Health officer , 12.00 for each dog sized - 2.00 for each
dog destroyed , Further resolved that the said contract period shall begin on
the 1st, day of July 1939 and end on the 31st, day of Dec, 1939 thereof.
Further resolved that said contract and terms is subject to the approval of the
Department of Agriculture & Markets of the State of New York
