MINUTES of a meeting of the Town of Queensbury Zoning

Board of Appeals held at the Town Office Building on February Ll,
1968 at 7:45 P.M.
There were present:
John E. Fitzgerald
James Keller
Charles o. Sicard
George Kurosaka
Allison B. Ellsworth
being all of the rnerríbers of the board.
John E. Fitzgerald, the Chairman, presided and the
Secretary, James Keller, recorded.
The Chairman read the minutes of the public hearing held
January 17, 1968 and on motion duly made by Charles o. ,:)icard,
seconded by James Keller and carried unanimously, were approved.
A letter dated February 5, 1968 from the Planning Board
with respect to Application for a Variance #3 by George and Olga
Boychuck was presented to the meeting. The letter stated that a
resolution had been passed stating they had no objection to the
entrance of the building development being closer than 300 feet
to the Northway access so long as the State does not object. .On
motion by Charles o. Sicard, seconded by James Keller, and carried
unanimously, it was agreed that the prior approval of the applica-
tion be amended to permit the entrance to be closer than 300 feet
to the Northway access provided that the State does not obJect to

conform with the suggestion of the Planning Board.

James Keller reported that Application for a Variance

1t23 by Cleo Rogers, transferred at the last meeting to the Plann1.ng
Board for their report, had been discussed and turned over to the
Town Attorney by the Planning Board for his opinion as to his
interpretation of the ordinance concerning the use of variances.
Application for a Variance #28 by Slingerlands Development
Corporation was presented to the meeting. George Kurosaka disqualifieå
himself on this matter. It was pointed out that this was a reapplica-
tion. John Bright and John McAndrews of Bright, Kurosaka & McAndrews,
architects for Slingerlands Development Corporation, who were present,
discussed the matter with the Board. The Application was turned over
to the Town Board for their consideration since the Zoning Board was
awaiting an opinion from the Town Attorney as to their power to

grant variances.
Application for a Variance 430 by the Queensoury Central
Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. was presented to the meeting. It was

pointed out th.at the reason for the application was the proposed
building aid not meet the fifty foot side yare requirement.
C. Powel South appeared on behalf of the Queensbury Central
Volunteer Fire Company. A letter dated January L3, 1~68 from the
Queensbury Central Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. was presented to
the meeting and the Chairman read it. After considerable discussion,
upon motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously, it was

RESOLVED, that Application for a Variance #30
by the l¿ueensbury Central Volunteer Fire
Company, Inc. be considered at a public hearing
to be held March 20, 1968.
