RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF 2001 HORTON TYPE III
AMBULANCE BY WEST GLENS FALLS EMERGENCY SQUAD, INC.

WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury and the West Glens Falls Emergency Squad, Inc.,
(Squad) have entered into an Agreement for emergency protection services which Agreement sets
forth a number of terms and conditions including a condition that the Squad will not purchase or enter
into any binding contract to purchase any piece of apparatus, equipment, vehicles, real property or
make any improvements that would require the Squad to acquire a loan or mortgage or use money
placed in a “vehicles fund” without prior approval of the Queensbury Town Board, and
WHEREAS, the Squad wishes to replace its 1995 ambulance and purchase one (1) 2001
Horton Type III ambulance for the approximate total sum of $121,300, and
WHEREAS, the Squad has been guaranteed a trade-in value of $26,000 on its 1995 ambulance
and so the net purchase cost of the new ambulance will actually be approximately $95,400, and
WHEREAS, the Squad has adequate funds in its restricted vehicle fund for the ambulance
purchase, and

WHEREAS, on April 2, 2001, the Town Board held a public hearing, heard all interested
persons and the Town wishes to facilitate the financing on behalf of the Squad,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby approves of the purchase of one (1)
2001 Horton Type III ambulance for the approximate sum of $121,300 by the West Glens Falls
Emergency Squad, Inc., with the understanding that the Squad will use its restricted vehicle fund for
this purchase.
