207.2001 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COMPENSATION OF CERTAIN TOWN EMPLOYEES FOR MARCH 6, 2001 SNOW DAY RESOLUTION NO.: 207, 2001 INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Tim Brewer WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr. Theodore Turner WHEREAS, on March 6, 2001, Queensbury Town Hall was closed as a result of poor road conditions due to a major snowstorm, and WHEREAS, although Town Hall was closed on March 6, 2001, certain employees still worked at the direction of their respective Department Managers, and WHEREAS, Queensbury Town Policy is to treat all employees fairly and equally, and WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to recognize the value of its employees who worked on March 6, 2001 under arduous conditions and wishes to resolve this dispute, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes compensation concerning the March 6, 2001 snow day as follows: 1.For each quarter hour (15 minutes) of time worked by an employee on March 6, 2001, the employee shall be entitled to equal administrative leave time. 2.Each affected employee’s Department Manager shall have sole and exclusive authority to authorize when the employee shall take such administrative leave provided that all th such administrative leave must be taken prior to June 30, 2001. This shall apply to both Union and Non-Union employees. 3.Employees who elected not to report to work before the determination was made to close Town Hall will not receive any additional compensatory time or compensation. This includes any employees who were out on vacation, sick leave, leave under the Family Medical Leave Act, leave without pay or any other type of leave. and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor to forward a copy of this Resolution to each Department Manager and further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor and/or Town Comptroller’s Office to take any action necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. th Duly adopted this 7 day of May, 2001, by the following vote: AYES : Mr. Martin, Mr. Turner, Mr. Stec, Mr. Brewer, Mr. Brower NOES : None ABSENT : None
