In the matter of public hearings, the chairman, Mr.
Fitzgerald, read the proof of publication for application
for variance #185 by EDWARD A WARDWELL. DBA UNITED RENT-ALLS
for a siqn with a 20' front set-back instead of the required
50' on the property situated at 684 UpPer Glen Street. Town
of Queensbury.
Mr. Fitzgerald commented that the board had apProved
the original 'post (Dunkin' Donuts on the same sign post)
and that this request was to avoid a second post.
There were no aPPearances for or against the application.
LeRoy Phillips told the board that Mr. Wardwell had
called the office and asked Mr. Phillips to give any infor-
mation that the board might require. When Mr. Fitzgerald
looked at the minutes regarding Dunkin' Donuts, it was his
opinion that those minutes had recorded a request for an
~ over-sized sign (non-conforming.)
Mr. Phillips commented that the variance asked for

was setback, nothing else.

Mr. Sicard: "It is a good looking sign."
Mr. Fitzgerald: "Yes, and I think we should encourage
this kind of sign."

The Board:
RESOLVED: Application for a variance by Edward A.
Wardwell, DBA United Rent-AIls, for a sign with a
set-back of 20' on the property situated at 684 Upper
Glen Street, be approved since it is the minimum
variance required for the reasonable use of the land.
This sign is less non-conforming than the prior one.
