657.92 RESOLUTION CONCERNING REQUEST TO GLENS FALLS TRANSPORTATION COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO.: 657, 92 INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Pliney Tucker WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mrs. Betty Monahan WHEREAS, significant development and growth accompanied by increased traffic has occurred and is expected to generally continue to occur in and around the intersection of Quaker Road, Aviation Road, and Route 9 in the Town of Queensbury, and WHEREAS, as a result of an initial review of the aforesaid area of the Town of Queensbury with the Executive Director of Planning, it would appear that a new connector road running generally from Route 9 in the area of the Foster Area intersection to the Aviation Mall would significantly address traffic concerns in the area, and WHEREAS, the Town Board would like to undertake such steps as may be necessary and proper to investigate such a road and, if appropriate, obtain assistance in the construction of a collector road running from Route 9 to the Aviation Mall property by requesting the Glens Falls Transportation Council to include such a road in the Glens Falls Transportation Council's Transportation Improvement Program, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED , that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor for the Town of Queensbury to draft a letter requesting that a road improvement of the nature described in the preambles hereof be added to the Glens Falls Transportation Council's Transportation Improvement Program, and the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby further authorizes the Town Supervisor to complete and execute all other forms that may be necessary in conjunction with the aforesaid request, and IT IS FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Executive Director and Town Attorney to communicate and negotiate with property owners of properties that such a road as contemplated herein could be placed with the understanding and restriction that no agreements binding on the Town of Queensbury can be entered into without further approval of the Town Board as demonstrated by resolution adopted by the Town Board. Duly adopted this 14th day of December, 1992, by the following vote: AYES : Mr. Tucker, Mrs. Monahan, Mrs. Goetz, Mr. Caimano, Mr. Brandt NOES : None ABSENT: None
