MINUTES of the public hearing of the Queensbury Zoning Board

of Appeals held May 18, 1977, at 7:36 p.m.
There were present:
John Fitzgerald, Chairman
George Kurosaka
Ted Turner
Charles Sicard
Sjeodje Richardson
John Silva
Kirkham Cornwell
being members of the Board. The meeting was called to order at
7:36 P.M. by John Fitzgerald, Chairman. On a motion by George
Kurosaka, seconded by Charles Sicard, the minutes of the April
meeting were approved as read.
OLD BUSINESS - Notice of Appeal - LionSon, Ltd. (Susse Chalet Motor Lodge)
Big Boom Road
(Appeal of denial of sign application)
This notice was tabled at request.
Special Permit #64 - Photo-Fun, Ltd. Northway Plaza, Route 9 -
to construct a drive-up photo kiosk on the property situatei at
Northway Plaza, Route 9.
Mr. Kurosaka disqualified himself.
Appearing on åehalf of Photo-Fun, Ltd. was Brooks Getty.
A letter was read from Mr. Eddy of the Beautification Committee
which stated that this committee approved but the ZBA might want
to consider these points:
1. Number of signs
2. Number of parking spaces.
Both the Warren County Planning Board and the Queensbury Planning
Board approved with no comments.
There were no public appearances. for or against this ~ermit.
The Board:

RESOLVED: Special Permit #64 be approved with the following
points.
1. The use is one specifically enumerated in the
district.

2. Such use will not be prej~dicia1 to the character
of the area.
3. The Board determines that there is appropriate
provision for access facilities adequate for
the estimated traffic from public streete and/or
highways and that there are pedestrian walkways
so as to insure public safety and to avoid
traffic congestion.
4. That there are full adequate parking areas and
off-street loading spaces, in conformity with
the proposed parking requirements of the zoning
ordinance of the Town of Queensbury and all other
related ordinances.
5. That such use is of the same general character
as, or will not be injurious to, the surround-
ing neighborhood or district.
This motion was made by Ted Turner and seconded by Charles
Sicard. Unanimous decision for approval.
JEW BUSINESS - Variance #492, Arthur G. Carlson - to place an
addition to a dwelling with 18 ft. front setback in lieu of the
required 30 ft. on the property situated at the north side of
Sullivan Place.
The Town Planning Board approved with no comments.
There were no public appearances for or against this Variance.
The Board:
RESOLVED: Application for Variance #492 be approved.
Motion made by John Fitzgerald and seconded by Charles Sicard.
Unanimous decision for approval.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:09 P.M.
