This would grant relief to the applicant of 20 feet from the front yard setback, and the current building
is 66 feet from the front yard setback, and the plans are to either take that building down or move
it back, in compliance with the new building, which would be 80 feet from the front yard line. The
practical difficulty is in the fact that it would be extremely expensive to move the firing range,
and the applicant has demonstrated that, were they to put it in other areas, a new septic system would
actually cost more than the building. I don't believe it would be detrimental to the neighborhood
because the Club exists. Nothing is changing except enhancing the appearance of the property by the
construction of the new building. There'd be no adverse effect on facilities, and I believe it's a
reasonable request by the applicant.
