Dear Mr. Hicks:
Regarding the above, and as we discussed:
1) Girder#1, running front to back, 16 foot clear span, carrying the second
floor, to be built, needs to be 3— 1 3/" x 11 1/" LVLs or a W8x18 steel
girder. Four 9 %" LVLs are too light.
2) Girders#2 through #4 are acceptable as built.
3) Girder#5 running side to side, 10' 8" clear span to be built needs to be 3—
1 %" x 9 Y" LVLs.
Also attached is a spread-sheet for the Town's Code requirements for light,
ventilation, and egress. Fill it out with the specific dimensions of your windows
and you should be all set.
