The building has been constructed as per construction documents developed by HE. The cross beams framing into the interior columns, with top and bottom connecting angles and a wood knee brace, are adequate connections. These beams act as tie beams for the columns and do not carry roof load. The (4) roof trusses bear directly over the columns. Box 511 Lake George, New York 1284 Re: Site Visit on April 8, 2005 Looney Tunes National Park The Great Escape Queensbury,New York A site visit was made at the above referenced project, by the undersigned representative of Empire Geo-Services, Inc. (Empire), on April 8, 2005. The site visit was made at the request of Mr. Bob Culver of Great Escape Theme Parks, LLC (Great Escape). This report summarizes the site visit observations. The purpose of this visit was to observe the exposed bearing soils for the Wile E. Coyote Coaster Station building foundations. Based on the recommendations provided in the geotechnical report prepared for the project by Empire, we understand the design soil bearing pressure is 1,200 psf. At the time of this site visit the Contractor was in the process of completing excavation for the building foundations. Observations 1) Due to shallow groundwater conditions, the Contractor had overexcavated the foundation bearing grades by approximately 12 inches and was installing a drainage layer of crushed stone to aid dewatering efforts. 2) The exposed bearing soils consisted of brown-gray sand with trace silt. It was observed that the foundation excavation extended below the dark brown organic layer (encountered in boring B-4), which could be seen in the excavation sidewall. The exposed bearing soils were evaluated using a small diameter steel probe rod. It is our Buffalo, NY Cortland, NY Cuba, NY Falconer, NY Rochester, NY Syracuse, NY Gilbert, PA [7161 649-8110 [6071 758-7182 [7161 9 6 8-9 6 8 6 [7161 487-1481 (5851 359.2730 [3151 6 9 8-7 3 5 9 [6101 6 8 1-8 5 0 0 The Great Escape April 8, 2005 Page 2 opinion that the exposed bearing soils were adequate for the design soil bearing pressure of 1,200 psf.
