Re: Replacement Septic System - Eulian Residence—952 Ridge Road, Queensbury, NY
Dear Dave:
On October 16, 2010, I performed a percolation test at the Joe Eulian residence located at 952
Ridge Road in Queensbury. The test was performed to the southeast of the residence in the
location where construction of a new leach field is proposed. The residence has an existing
failing septic system which will be decommissioned upon completion and certification of the
replacement system.
The results of the testing are as follows:
Percolation Test
Stabilization percolation rate - 1" in 7 minute, 20 seconds
The hole was presoaked and the test was run six times until it stabilized with three consecutive
runs of 6:48, 7:05 and 7:20 respectively.
The design flow for this 3 bedroom residence at 110 gpd per bedroom requires 471 sf of
absorption area or 184 if of absorption trench. The new replacement absorption system for the
proposed residence should consist of the new 1,000 septic tank located on the south side of the
residence and a new distribution box with either a 20' wide by 25' long absorption bed (500 sf)
with 4 - 20 foot long absorption laterals or 4— 50 ft long absorption trench lataerals either system
will be located to the southeast of the residence.
