RESOLUTION WATER QUALITY WEST GLENS FALLS WATER DISTRICT
RESOLUTION NO. 12, 1994

WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury is the Local
Board of Health has considered the water quality of the West Glens
Falls Water District, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury is of the opinion
that a serious concern is legitimately raised as to the water
quality and there is an immediate need to authorize a new source of
water for the district which in turn it is the Board's
understanding will help to correct some of the bacteriological
problems that the district currently faces due to a lack of
chlorine residual, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury after due and
careful consideration feels that the situation is such that with
concerns of residents over there and children possibly drinking the
water that immediate action should be taken as a Local Board of
Health measure and as a cost to the Local Board of Health,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury as the Local
Board of Health hereby authorizes the Water Department to construct
an interconnection between the Queensbury Consolidated Water
District and the West Glens Falls Water District according to the
recommendations of O'Brien and Gere letter dated September 2, 1994
and allow for the supply of water from the Queensbury Consolidated
Water District, and
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED, that the Water Superintendent is authorized to obtain any
other necessary approvals that he may need from the Department of
Environmental Conservation and the Department of Health.
