The minutes of the April 21, 1982 meeting were approved, per
change, on a motion by Charles Sicard, seconded by Theodore
Turner. The motion was carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Variance No. 752, Mary Ann and James Potter - to place a private
swimming pool in the side yard in lieu of the required rear yard
placement on the property situated at Boulderwood Drive.
Mr. James Potter spoke on his own behalf. He built a solar home
on a 3-acre lot.
There were no speakers for or against this variance.
A motion to approve was made by Charles Sicard, seconded by Daniel
Griffin. Motion was carried unanimously.
RESOLVED: The Board granted this variance in concurrence
with the Queensbury Planning Board and it is
the right location for this pool.
Variance No. 753, Bruce Fraser - to place an attached garage
with 15 ft. front setback in lieu of the required 30 ft. front
setback on the property situated at Cleverdale Road.
Mr. Bruce Fraser was present to speak on his own behalf.~ He
explain that erecting the garage would alleviate parking problems
along the road.
There were no speakers for or against this variance.
Mr. Morrissey's letter was read with no objections.
A motxon to approve was made by Daniel Griffin, seconded by
Charles Sicard. A 5-1 vote was taken (Susan Goetz - no).
RESOLVED: The Board granted this area variance as a
reasonable request and because of the terrain.

Variance No. 754,Torrington Industries, Inc. - to store sand and
gravel excavated from a neighboring lot on a parcel zoned C-l and
R-3 on the property situated at the corner of Ridge Road and
Route 149.
Mr. Hoffman, attorney for Torrington Construction, was present.
Also Mr. Ted Zoli, of Torrington, was present.
Mr. Hoffman explained the revised position o~ the proposed pile
for storage of sand from C-I to R-3. They have no other outside
storage. Same hours, or less, will be kept as of the Landfill.
Trucks and such will enter from the Ridge Road entrance.
Edith Bowman and Eleanore Bowman were present with questions
regarding hours, equipment storage at the site and position of
site, etc.
Veronica Driscoll of Route 149 and Ridge Road was present with
questions of appearance and traffic.
Comments of disapproval were read from letters from Estella Bennett
and Gilbert Maille. Both were commenting on the first site. It
was stated that both parties were informed of the change since their
letters.
A motion to approve was made by Theodore Turner and seconded by
Kirkham Cornwell. Motion was carried unanimously.
RESOLVED: The Board granted this variance. The Board
is of the opinion that such variance be
approved to store sand in R-3 Zone only per
revised application May 1982. Hardship - Land
not suitable for residential development.
Ingress and egress from Ridge Road only.
Variance granted for this operation only.
Location of storage site as applied for.
A motion to adjourn at 8:35 P.M. was made by Theodore Turner,
seconded by Charles Sicard. Motion was unanimous.
