1984-12-19 33(, Queensbury Zoning Board of Appeals meeting December 19, 1984 at 7:30 P.M. Present: Mr. Behr, Mr. Griffin, Mrs. Goetz, Mr. Turner and Mr. Sicard Absent: Mr. Muller and Mr.Mills Chairman mentioned the first item for this evening would be the approval of the November, 1984 minutes. There was one correction Variance No. 955 - Vote - Turner voted YES to deny. Motion by Mr. Griffin, seconded by Mrs. Goetz, all voting affirmatively, it was RESOLVED THAT the minutes of the November, 1984 meeting are hereby approved subject to the correction. VARIANCE NO. 961 - James Kneeshaw - Tabled until the next meeting. VARIANCE NO. 962 - Shirley Wells - 43 Zenas Drive - To construct a carport with 6 ft. side setback in lieu of the required 10 ft. Ms. Wells represented herself. Mr. Turner asked if this was proposed to be for one car and she said yes. She was asked the size of this carport. Ms. WElls said it would be 15 x 20. Mr. Behr asked if there was any reason why it couldn't be 12' instead of IS '_'L/ . ,~.'þ"':- -cI(.¡' el'v74~ Ms. WElls said she felt this was what she needed. ~1r. Behr then added that if she only had a 12' carport she would only need a l' variance. Public hearing opened. Mr. Miles Bethel, 32 Zenas Drive asked if the only question at hand the size of the carport or is the permit needed for the carport. He mentioned that he was opposed to the size of the carport. Mr. Behr asked if it was possible that she could JJet by with 12' . Ms. Wells said he has a Chevette, it could go into a smaller area. Public Hearing closed. - Mr. Turner asked if she felt that she could go with the smaller width and she said if the Chevette will fit in it. She also mentioned that the contractor will be digging the holes in the macadam, not on the other side of it. 337 Page 2 December 19, 1984 Motion by Mr. Turner, seconded by !>1r. Sicard, all voting affirmatively, it was RESOLVED THAT the Queensbury Zoning Board approves Variance No. 962 as a practical difficulty in the location of the site has been shown and the location of the present blacktop. Approved. VARIANCE NO. 963 - Walter Harrison - to construct a two-car detached garage at less than the 30 ft. front setback from the road in Lakeshore Residential. Contractor, Joseph Belski represented Dr. Harrison. Mr. Turner asked if the spot cleared is the spot for the garage and Mr. Belski said yes. Public Hearing opened and closed. Warren County Planning Board approved. The question was asked if there was any intent at any later date to build anything else on this property and Mr. Belski said no, he just needs the garage space. Mr. Griffin asked if there would be electrical service into the building and Mr. Belski and there would Motion by Mr. Behr, seconded by Mr. Griffin, all voting affirmatively, it was RESOLVED THAT the Queensbury Zoning Board approves Variance NO. 963 as a practical difficulty has been shown, there is no adverse affect on the neighborhood and there will be no living quarters above the garage ceiling.
